Howdy Y’all! I cleanded trash cans (ICK!) and mowed this mornin’. Really, until around one p.m. Came home, showered, and had some quality cee-mint pond time. Majik intartoobz pizza has been ingested. Chillage ensues.
Appreciate the hug Doggiooo. Was it meant for me? Sorry about your computer woes. Always something.
I took Louie to irk today not knowing it was Bring your dog to irk day. Talk about a coincidence. Anyway, had someone said anything about it I was gonna say the new Director said it was OK, which he didn’t, since he is on a forced vacay. I kid. We did 6 1/2 hours and packed it in. He remembers everything and everyone. He was so happy to go back to irk. Leftover sketties for sup. Gonna be a slut tonight and sleep with Mel and Ben too if need be. TGIF.
Irk was hell today. Database and SQL issues plagued my morning and weird sales orders (not normally part of my job) were the bane of my afternoon. I actually got about 45 minutes of my own irk done.
I took Nelson to the dog park this afternoon and stayed for two hours because he was having fun with several dogs that he clicks with. By the time we got out and went through the Bojangles drive thru, there was a tornado warning, the rain was coming in sheets, the stop lights were swaying. Twas a tense drive.
Supper’s et and I’m watching a History Channel documentary about the fifties. It’s chill time.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 79 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (mostly moony?) with a predicted high of 96 and a chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. The biggest item on today’s agenda is to attend a breakfast over to the church house about our Legacy Fund. There will be some kind of presentation on estate plannin’ and such. Hope it gets over in a couple of hours. I really don’t want to go. However, as I stated earlier this week, as a member of the Vestry and an officer thereof, this is kind of a mandatory thing I must attend. Show of strength and all that nonsense.
{{{doggio}}} did The Invisible Mole People finally take over the intartoobz machine? Gordie tried to warn you!
Now I need more caffeine. I also need to consume a little sump’n so’s I can take meds. Don’t like to take ‘em on an empty tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother of bothers, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public as an adult attire.
Up, caffeianted, and sheveled. Off to work. It’s my Firday.
**Butters **, the hug was fo Louie feeling his age.
**swampy **, the only reason The Invisible Mole People got to my PC was that *somebody * was sleeping off his morning cocktails instead of guarding things.
Wait, swampy, you started the day by mooning???
Like Butters, I did the slut thing last night with my good buddy Mel. Slept better’n 8 hours non-stop, so huzzah!!! I’m havin’ me an egg sallit sammich for breakfast, since the egg sallit I made for the open house needs to be consumed. It’s lower 60s this morning, so I opened a few windows for the short time it’ll stay cool.
SIL will be working today, I’ve got laundry, **FCD **plans to get his Harley running again, and daughter and Roxy may or may not get back tonight. All in all, it promises to be a decent day.
I was hoping to sleep in this morning but I was awake at 7. So I got an extra half hour of sleep.
However the sun is shining and it is cool outside, going up to 81 today, which isn’t too bad.
I figured sine I was up I may as well log in to irk, and that has been super busy.
I have one load of laundry done, I put two shirts in the dryer because I have nothing to wear. Everything else will go out on the line once I am done with irk.
I’m getting ready to start another load in the washer.
Then I’ll get a shower and head out to the park early today. Hopefully there will be some parking spaces and it won’t be too crowded if I go early.
There’s a load of jeans on the lines, a load of shirts in the washer, and a load of unders in the on-deck circle.
**FCD **wants to go to Sears, so we’ll be making the trek to Waldork after I hang the shirts on the line. The unders will go in the dryer when I get home.
Meanwhile, I’m tidying - taking care of stuff that was neglected in the run up to the bust of an Open House. Lots to get done…
Howdy Y’all! Home from the Legacy thing over to the church house. Actually been home for a bit. Needed to change into non bein’ about the public attire first. It was actually a good program. Talked about stuff like estate planning, wills, trusts, advanced medical directives, durable power of attorney, funeral planning, and the like. Got some info I need to get put into place as well. OK, not the most excitatin’ thing on a Sattidy mornin’ but still very informative and fairly well attended.
MOOOOOOM I did not moon this mornin’, the sky did. So There!
I have been busy this morning (as these things go for me). Safeway delivered my groceries and I put them away. I was apparently in the mood for ice cream when I placed the order. :o
We’re supposed to be back up to 100 degrees today.
Today I have a demanding regimen of sleeping and reading planned.
Back from erranding. **FCD **got some new sneaks, we didn’t buy the tool box from Sears because it was junk, we had lunch at Olive Garden because apparently the Red Lobster in Waldork went out of business, and we stopped at Harbor Freight Tools new location in Waldork, just to look around. I just tossed my last load into the dryer and **FCD **is napping. I’m about to assume the Netflix-n-knit position.
Afternoon all. Back in Boston after wandering around in New Hampshire and spending time with friends up there. Don’t plan on doing much today, just finished checking in for my flight to Halifax tomorrow so I just need to make sure I get up for the shuttle bus run.
Beautiful day today, hopefully tomorrow will be just as nice.
Hotels.com went from villian to hero in the space of an hour. Villian in first booking the room wrong, and then cancelling it instead of making it right. Hero because they rebooked me and gave me a $100 voucher towards the cost and found that I had booked hotels on the 25th in two locations, which they fixed (and a few bucks cheaper to boot). So I should be Ok for the rest of the trip.
Would read the previous comments but need nappage right now. Take care all.
wow its noon and I just woke up… other than being up when disabled cousin wanted breakfast that’s the longest I’ve slept in forever
Update on the cooler well we got the pads to get it finished … but guess what ? its been downright cool/cold … we’ve set a record for the coolest first day of summer ever in the history of our area…i keep saying if we put the pads on its gonna snow …
Sorry about the open house flop fcm…would of it happening on a weekend of helped ?
Tho in my experience if I don’t plan on people coming over … they show up …
my brother was in hs and invited a ton of people spent almost 200 dollars borrowed from me I mean we had kegs and everything and the same crew of 4 or 5 showed up… (he wanted the wild teen movie party experience)
new years mom figured no one was gonna be here so she just bought a few cheap snacks from a dollar store …50 people decided we were the place to be at … luckily the stores were opened so everyone pitched in …
We really like Maupin, and, to a slightly lesser extent, Dufur. I kinda like The Dalles but Wifey says it’s too windy there. Also more expensive. We looked around Tygh Valley and thereabouts some, but at our age, we want to be a fairly short ride to the hospital in The Dalles, or Bend. Maupin would be best 'cause we could rent it out to fishermen and rafters in the summer to cover some of the costs until we’re ready to sell this place and retire over there. That was our plan for the place on the coast before the economy took that away from us. I still love the ocean, but Wifey wants to be away from the rain this time. Since I love her more than I love the ocean, I’ll go where she wants to go.
No, The biggest issue is that we’re about 20 miles from where most of the invitees work. Had we been in the same general neighborhood, we’d have had a full house. But we didn’t want to rent space and we opted to build on our property. In the grand scheme of things, as long as the company turns out quality products on time, we’re fine.
**Bumba **- if I have nightmares because of that thong comment, I’ll hunt you down and give you a scolding like you’ve never had before!!!
Laundry is done, and many more episodes of The West Wing have been binged, with accompanying knittage. It’s been a good afternoon.
Evil heathen! I’ve posted here in the last year from my 520c ------- the SDMB is one of the few sites the Old Reliable can open.
The flea market went very well in terms of cash; not so much so in terms of bulk. So some is being sorted to thrift and some to HalfPrice Books. I know there are literally hundreds of people who do these things as sellers week after week after year after year. I will NOT be one of those. Too much other crap I would rather do.
