Time for another of these threads, I think. Currently playing Chez Geobabe: Jane’s Addiction, “Ritual de lo Habitual.”
Recent plays: Garbage, “Version 2.0”; Aimee Mann, “Bachelor No. 2”; The Sex Pistols, “Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols”; plus my most recent acquisition, the Led Zeppelin box set. I have rather eclectic tastes.
Currently it’s “The Battle of Los Angeles” by Rage Against the Machine. Recently, there has been “the downward spiral” and “The Fragile (left)” by nine inch nails (dammit, there they are again!), “Happiness… Is Not a Fish That You Can Catch” by Our Lady Peace, and “Significant Other” by Limp Bizkit.
Here at the office, THE THELONIOUS MONK ORCHESTRA AT TOWN HALL, recorded live in NYC, February, 1959, on the Riverside label. DOWNBEAT gave it four and a half stars.
Um…I’m not listening to anything this second, but the last five plays in my CD player have been:
“Iceberg/Freedom of Speech - Just Watch What You Say”: Ice-T
“Nephilim”: Fields of the Nephilim
“Black Elvis/Lost in Space”: Kool Keith
“Psalm 69”: Ministry
and “Revival”: Gillian Welch
Currently it’s a compilation called “Saturday Morning: Cartoons’ Greatest Hits”.
Recently:
“My, I’m Large” by The Bobs
“Here Comes the Groom” by John Wesley Harding
“New Music For Silent Films” by The Alloy Orchestra
“Live(?) in Seattle” by Mel Cooleys

“Variety Pack” from Animaniacs
“John Henry” by They Might Be Giants
Right now, it’s Philip Glass, “Satyagraha”
