Thanks again guys for all your input. I have just one question left. Will I be at risk for a more serious problem if I don’t have them removed? If I keep a high fiber diet, and be sure not to stress too much on the toilet seat, will I be okay?
Here’s something for you. From nih.gov… It’s a walkthru.
"This patient module will help you understand the benefits and risks of [hemorrhoid] surgery. "
Get your ass to a doctor to get a proper diagnosis and treatment options. Here you’ll get some good advice mixed with more bad advice and some truly irrelevant and inappropriate advice.
I ain’t telling you again.
I’m still laughing about this. The image of someone liquored up, balancing precariously on a toilet while poking a sharp pair of scissors up their ass is about the most appalling thing I can think of.
What a funny thread. I had no idea hemorrhoids were clogged blood vessels until this thread. I had always assumed they were just bloody sores on/near the rectum. Ewww. “Lance them” haha.
Hemmorhoid update: I went poop today and there was hardly any pain involved! (very minimal) I also noticed that there was very little blood on the tissue when I wiped my bum bum. I’ve been taking sitz baths over the past few days and it seems to be working. Hopefully it will get rid of most of the 'roids over time. I’ve also increased my fiber intake quite a bit. When I went poop, the poo poo was very very soft, near liquid-like. The only downside to this, is that you sorta make a mess on the toilet. But its certainly worth it! Thanks again guys!
What worked for me during four weeks of Hemorrhoid Hell. Stay in a very warm tub as much as you possible can. If you have a handheld shower attachment spray it right on the area as you lay in the tub. Try to relax, breathe. Use prep H right after then roll up a electric heating pad on lowest setting and put in right on them. Lay on your side with pad as long as you can and as often as you can.
I tried everything and seriously considered lancing myself but it was up inside and I couldn’t get to it. I inserted garlic clove, peeled and slightly smashed until juices flowed out. It stung but did give relief although temporary. Not easy to remove either when you are in such pain so I really wouldn’t bother with it again. Ice packs gave some minor temp relief.
For me heat was best and lots of PrepH. Trip to emergency room was a total waste of time. After I see the surgeon I’ll post again. They are still there but they don’t hurt anymore. I had two minor setbacks after eating too much food during the last two weeks.
STOP eating, as much as you can. I’m still eating soft like, scrambled eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, raw spinach and all veggies and fruits. Be careful not to eat bulky things. Remember what goes in must come out. This is a huge way to keep pressure off the area when you have to sit on the toilet. Side benefit I lost 12 pounds these 4 weeks.
Finally, PRAY. See doctors ASAP and go to surgeon. WATER by the gallons too…It will end so don’t give up hope. Use every tool you have.
Medical advice is best suited to IMHO (but note that the OP seems to have solved his problem 11 years ago).
