Damn Straight. It has happened to me too. I put out what I thought was a clever, fun post a couple of days ago and the only few responses were people taking me seriously.
Let’s kick Aha’s ass. Unless I’m cool with him, then just pretend you don’t know me around him.

Hmmmm well now let’s see. Could it be that what you think is a clever and interesting thread to start is not thought to be clever and interesting by other Dopers?
Anyone can post a thread, as you can well observe from the board. Most dopers will open and read the threads, but most won’t post. Why is that? Because most of the dopers realize that we are out to fight ignorance and rather than just post a stupid, meaningless response just to up their post count or to increase your thread count, they simply bypass the thread. Then you have other dopers that will post to any and everything they can, as you can observe by post count, and in doing so they lose their credibility on the board. Everyone knows they are going to respond to just about every thread in some meaningless way, so dopers stop reading their posts.
The age of the doper community is also wide-range. It’s hard to appeal to the mass. Everyone has started threads with only a few responses. It’s just the way of the board.
And yep, my best friend aha does get a lot of responses, mainly because he’s about the funniest poster on the board, as many would agree, he can make you laugh.
