What's the fastest you''ve ever received a package from online shopping?

Overnight.

Last week, I ordered a keyboard, at about 8 am. It went out by UPS Grund, and by 8 am the next morning, it was on the local delivery truck serving my neighborhood, but the driver didn’t get to my house until 6:15 pm. But he had it in his truck 24 hours after I ordered it, and could have brought it right to me then. It came from Houston, about 120 miles away, but from an Amazon partner, not from an Amazon warehouse.

A few years ago I ordered a Christmas CD set from Amazon at 6 PM on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and I got free 2-day shipping. It was delivered to my door at 3 PM the next day by A-1 Courier.

I’ve had the same experience with Amazon Japan but it wasn’t Prime, just the regular service. I’ve ordered things before noon and had it arrive the same evening. That’s not to say that’s their regular service schedule, but I find that if I order by 3 or 4pm I usually get the package by the next evening.

Amazon sometimes has special offers where you can try Prime service for free, but since I usually get my packages in 24 to 48 hours, I’m happy (and amazed) with their regular service. The only way they can surprise me now is if they delivered before I’ve even ordered, like they can foresee my purchasing decisions.

Dinner. 45 minutes.

I quite often order Amazon items and receive them the next day.

The best one though was I ordered a dishwasher from Lowes.com about 9:00 PM one evening. Next morning at 8:30 or so it was delivered.

I hear Amazon Japan has same day delivery in parts of Tokyo.

I’ve seen an under 24 hour delivery from Amazon here in North Texas a few times.

I’ve ordered pizza online and had it show up in 15 minutes. Hehe.

Yep. I ordered something at 7pm and it was delivered at 9am. I’m within 50 miles of one of their warehouses, and oddly this was one of the few orders I’ve ever gotten that hasn’t shipped out of KY instead.

Bought a snowblower thru eBay from a vendor in the next town, went and picked it up within the hour.

When we lived in Mesa, I once ordered something before work (6:30 in the morning; I was a teacher) and it was on the front porch when I got home at 4:00. I was utterly amazed. When we lived out there, I never paid for upgraded shipping, and almost always got my stuff within 24 hours.

Amazon gets me stuff on the same day regularly enough that it’s no longer a surprise. Best though was dear departed Kosmo.com. Now technically, they were a courier service and not a shipper, but I needed a candybar one day at work, and damn if they didn’t bring it to me in a half hour.
