What's the last movie you saw more than once in a movie theater?

The Matrix. Saw it with friends, then my office went to see it a week later as a team building exercise, so I went along

Same for me.

Before that it was probably Lawrence of Arabia. I saw it when it first came out, then when it was re-issued in the late 1980s or early 1990s.

I saw Mad Max: Fury Road three times this summer, all in the same theatre.

Last year I saw Guardians of the Galaxy twice in the theatre.

Actually, now that I think of it a local theater did some special screenings of beloved '80s movies last summer, and this gave me the opportunity to see The Princess Bride on the big screen for the third time in my life. I saw it as a kid when it was originally released, and then at a 20th anniversary screening in 2007. But for new releases, The Muppets was the most recent.

To the best of my recollection the only other new movie I’ve seen twice in the theater in the past decade was Brokeback Mountain (2005), which I saw when it was first released and then again in the summer when one of the theaters was doing discount screenings of all the Best Picture nominees from the last Academy Awards.

I must have seen Dirty Dancing about fifteen times.

With fifteen different women.

Rocky Horror Picture Show, back in the 80’s.

Mad Max Fury Road. Saw it twice in the theater and once On Demand, and I hope to get the DVD as a gift.

Oh yeah forgot about re-release type situations. I saw the original Tron at a local theater a few years ago, and definitely saw it more than once during its original run.

Fritz Lang’s Metropolis.

First watched it on PBS in the early '70s, and have seen every version since…every time someone cobbles together a new score, or archivists retrieve some lost footage. Small screens, big screens, outdoor screens.

Saw “From The Madding Crowd” (the recent Carey Mulligan version) twice this summer. I’m kinda odd that, while I don’t go to movies often, when I do I often see them twice. Probably due to having a tiny TV at home.

Star Wars. It didn’t have another title or an episode number. It was just Star Wars. I saw it by myself in 1977 then took my younger brother a few weeks later.

I got my aunt to take me to see 1966’s Batman. We came in a few minutes late and sat through to the end, then waited in the theater for the next showing and caught up on what we missed the first time through. I don’t know if that really counts as seeing it twice, though.

Titanic. Saw it 3 times when I was a teenager.

Well, now that you mention Imax, I remember we saw Beowulf (2007) in a regular cinema and then in 3D at Imax. We don’t like 3D but heard this was a good version. still not impressed with 3D. (It makes a dark picture darker, and Beowulf was dark enough, and I don’t mean mood…)

Err, didn’t see the multiple. I saw Mad Max: Fury Road twice in the same day. Good movie.

I rarely go to see new movies in the theater, but I did see the first JJ Abrams Star Trek movie when it came out because my brother invited me to go.

A year or so later it came up on the roster for the yearly sci-fi movie marathon I go to.

I think that is the only one ever.

Wall-E. I was actively dating that summer, and for some reason pretty much every guy thought he should take me to see it. I think I saw it in the theater three times.

I go to the movies on a regular basis but it’s really rare for me to see the same movie a second time in a theater. I can only think of three movies I’ve done it with.

The most recent was Toy Story 3. I had seen it on a regular screen and then a few months later a local discount theater upgraded to 3D and I watched it again in 3D.

Gravity.

Return of the King. The last one before that was The Two Towers. And the last one before that was (you guessed it) Fellowship of the Ring.

Star Wars IV - A New Hope. it is also the ONLY movie I have seen more than once in a movie theater.
