On a different message board, I participated in a secret santa exchange. My secret santa sent me a remote control helicopter which I was so excited to get. I’m almost 40 and I was doing a little happy dance. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the thing to charge and since it was secret santa across the country, I didn’t have a receipt to exchange it. So today I just ordered one off of Amazon and paid extra to have shipped one day on Prime.
What was the last toy you bought for yourself?
A spiffy new mountain bike.
X-Box 360. Kind of a family thing because it was a Christmas present.
It was either the telescope, or the banjo.
A weekend car.
A reissue of the Starscream transformer back in 1998.
A ginormous flat screen TV, on Black Friday when they cost $250.
I bought myself a Canon S100 for Christmas. Got a pretty good deal, too–it was on sale for $229.
A pellet gun (haven’t shot my eye out yet!)
I bought myself an iPad Mini and I LOVE it… I have an ereader and a very nice laptop but once I held an iPad Mini in my hands, I had to have it! I’ve had a great time searching for fun apps and now I’m hooked on Words With Friends… I always loved to play Scrabble.
This - been having fun with it for about a week now messing around with recording software at home! 
A Zoom G1N. It’s pretty much every guitar effect rolled into one pedal.
Although technically, I didn’t buy it for myself. I used a gift card that I got from my boss.
The last toy I bought for myself was this. It makes bubbling, slurping noises. It rolls around on its tentacles. It was 99 cents at Goodwill. I love Goodwill.
I got a Chrome book just before Christmas. I love it. I needed something a little more than a tablet, without any serious purpose other than internetting.
A set of Rory’s Story Cubes
A new GPS. I consider it a toy because I already have several GPSs and a smartphone. I bought this new one solely for one function that is has that my other devices don’t. It can receive wireless information from beacons employed by Chirp type geocaches.
Oh, those are cool. That might just become my new go-to child gift.
A digital camcorder.
A new Yamaha stereo receiver.
