It was time and I thought I would get over the worry of spending money in one fell swoop.
I upgraded from a 2G phone to a 4G smartphone. I am happy with it and have found it useful so far (using soundhound to find the names of songs on the radio, using the barcode scanner in stores, field trip to find interesting things around town, etc).

Just like you a RC helicopter, too much fun. Learning to use the controls is very time consuming. Great fun, and it worries the cat. Before that a motorized squirt gun, for the neighbors cat who thinks is OK to leave paw prints on my car, couple of squirts and he hasn’t been back.

I obviously take my hobbies way too seriously, because most of the things people have listed don’t really strike me as toys… I honestly can’t remember the last time I bought myself something I would consider a toy.
