Does it count if you haven’t received it yet?
I just ordered this nifty thingy yesterday (two, in fact) since it looked so cool, but Leap hasn’t actually started shipping yet.
For anyone that doesn’t want to follow the link, that is a USB device, smaller then a stapler, that responds to gestures in a 3d cube. Sort of like a super-mouse.
A Canon Powershot camera. I needed a new digital camera so I splurged on one of the toppest of the line non-SLR cameras at the store. I would have bought an SLR except for the weight (I like nature photos but don’t like lugging stuff around.)
I just love it: I took pictures in Carlsbad Caverns just fine (if by “just fine” you mean “needing to steady on a railing.”)
A Porter Cable thickness planer. My two previous toy purchases were a Makita miter saw and a Skil benchtop drill press. My toybox is getting crowded and full of sawdust.
Canon 6D. The best part was after trading in my 5DmkII and the wireless transmitter it was only a couple hundred dollar upgrade and it saved me over a pound of weight and endless fiddling required to add the GPS data to each photo.
Sure the wireless transmitter does more than I was using it for but for the features I want it’s a clear savings and thank god for my camera store because I didn’t have to deal with reselling my 5D. They had a customer who was looking for one and since mine was in excellent shape they gave me an excellent deal, him an excellent deal, made a bit of money and didn’t have to keep it in the shop more than a couple of days. Win/win/win!
Second-to-last toy: Translucent Green HexBug Spider with remote control
Most recent toy: Authentic Knitting Board Sock Loom (but no yarn bought, or projects begun)
