What's the most interesting car you saw today?

Yep, and RHD to boot.

I live in Iowa, and this afternoon, I was at a gas station and a fire truck pulled in - decorated with a Canadian flag and “ST. CATHARINES, ONTARIO” painted on both sides. I saw the driver filling it up and asked what the deal was, and he pointed at a small sign in the window advertising a company in Nebraska that he said built the truck, and he was delivering it.

That was cool. My dad is a retired FF, and I’ll have to tell him about it.

The tumbledown gas station/repair shop up the street from me always has a collection of derelict vehicles around it. Yesterday I saw an old Land Rover of some kind. I don’t know anything about Land Rovers, but after skimming Wikipedia, I guess it was a Series II or III. It was a two-door, painted dull green, and the rear was a fully enclosed hard top (think, an old panel back pickup). It was very spartan, with just two skimpy vinyl seats and and empty cargo area. It was pretty cool!

Two convertibles in light metallic blue, with white tops, at separate times today; one a '66 Chevy Impala, that other a '71 or '72 Mustang.

A Chrysler “K car”, Plymouth Reliant. Looked to be pretty good shape, paint finish a bit dull though. Was a later version: While as boxy as all K-cars were, the corners were marginally more rounded than the early cars.

Went an antique store today to see about selling some of my family treasures that don’t fit modern life. They had a boatload of old Phillips 66 signs and one Gulf sign. If only I still had my own garage instead of a parking space below the condo…

When picking up dinner last night, one of the delivery guys had a Subaru X-90. That was unexpected.

Drove past a Getty gas station this morning; don’t know if they’re updating the sign or changing the brand but a worker was standing there holding a red Getty sign that came up to his neck.

Suzuki, actually. Otherwise, carry on.

Mine, today: the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile! Southbound on the Hardy Toll Road in Houston.

Hmm, snowplows, brining trucks, tow trucks. No great cars. It might be winter here.

Duh. sorry.

On Hiway 9 in Felton today, a 50s Cadillac Fleetwood Imperial

And right around the corner, The Mystery Machine!

Nothing special. I think I just noticed an Oley hatchback for the first time. Such a nondescript car. You want to use it as a getaway vehicle.

A pickup I thought was a Dodge Ram was actually a Sterling Bullet.

Powered by a Banks Turbo Hemi.

A rather decrepit Datsun 260Z. Had some shiny chrome pipes coming out the back, though.

Drove past a guy working on a Chevy Nomad (yes, a real two door Nomad) in his driveway. It was beautiful light blue on the bottom and white on the top. If I didn’t have to be somewhere I would have loved to turn around and chat with him.

There’s a red one parked a few blocks away from me. Been there for years and looks roadworthy.

1971 Red Buick Skylark convertable. White interior. Had factory “mags” and looked great all the way around.

Too bad it wasn’t a GS though…

A Cadillac Escalade towing a crappy, broken down old trailer loaded with scrap.

Guess hauling junk pays better than I thought.

Chicago. Midnight. Dumb, and dumber.

I did a double-take when I passed aMutt-Cutts van.
