Sunday I was at my favorite hobby shop , and parked nearby was an absolutely gorgeous 1963 Studebaker Avanti.. Lovely russet color with ivory interior. I actually spoke to the owner for a few seconds but literally ended up babbling like a fanboy.
A pre-'74 BMW 2002, in the classic Inka Orange.
Here in Houston, we often see some visiting Mexico-market cars that aren’t available in the US. For example, today a Renault Duster Oroch, a sort of sedan/pickup thing similar to the old Subaru Baja.
Subaru Forester Plug-In Hybrid
Yesterday on my way back from work I saw a Maybach for the first time. Oddly, it has a Mercedes emblem, I thought Mayback was its own brand. Nasty, tasteless chrome wheels.
A Honda CR-X del Sol, which stopped production in 1998 so it’s at least 20 years old. It looked great, like it just came off the showroom floor.
Yesterday: 1969 Chevelle station wagon
Today: 1970 El Camino Super Sport.
There’s a real estate agent in Ramona who has his car collection displayed along the main drag. Last Saturday he had a MG, a Metropolitan, and a Monster Truck parked at his office.
A Honda ACTY, RH-drive, of course, dealer plates, too.
Spring is arriving in MN. Saw my first Corvette of the season today.
Spring is in full flow here in MN. On Wednesday, it was a Jaguar XJL, Thursday brought a Corvette and a Thunderbird (the retro one), Friday I saw my first bike on the road and today has been a parade of oldies-but-goodies including a souped up Dodge Dart, and one Polaris Slingshot. I now live near a garage and popular car wash and detailing center. I expect to see a parade all summer.
Must be spring here as well, on the drive home yesterday I saw my first set of cars that typically don’t come out to play in the New England winters.
First, a purple Lamborghini Gallardo (I think, not positive on the model) in stop and go traffic headed the opposite way. Then a sixth generation (1965-67) Plymouth Belvedere looking like it had just driven off the showroom floor.
I love spring cars.
Two disappointing cars in the parking lot:

Get a rope.
This is not especially unusual in the modern world. The majority of Porsche car sales these days are auto (or, to be exact, PDK) transmissions. This article from 2016 noted that “85 percent of Porsche’s global 911 production comes equipped with the PDK automatic.”
I was going to list the pristine vintage Fiat 124 Spider that overtook me on the freeway this afternoon, but then it got pushed aside by a pristine vintage Jaguar E-type, top down.
A really beat-up Wingle 5, it is a newer model, but this one has taken a lot of abuse. Also a Volvo-looking Geely hatchbach looking thing.
Interesting that the Wingle says it has an extral-long cargo body, because it doesn’t appear extra-long to me. Maybe extra-long for Chinese market standards?
In Willow Glen today, a nice-looking late 70s Ford Ranchero
