Tail lights like this?
Went to Kroger today, as I was leaving I spotted a really nice looking 65 GTO sitting in a separate lot, across the main drive from Kroger’s. After putting my groceries in the truck I walked over to get a better look. Up close, it was beyond really nice. Nearly perfect. As I was admiring it the owner came up and I chatted with him briefly. Beautiful example of one of my all time favorite cars.
Not this car but it looked just like this, color and all.
(Actually the one I saw had period correct aftermarket wheels.)
Today’s contestant: a late-'60s MGB-GT, in pale yellow, like the illustrated vehicle.
they were smaller and 4 of them. I think it had a wing like part on the front of the hood, but it was not sticking up off the hood.
Four as in two on each side? Like this (You might have to flip through the slide show to see the taillights)? I’m guessing a Chevy Biscayne or Bel Air. The more expensive Impala had six taillights, while the entry level Biscayne and mid level Bel Air had four.
An Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, a couple blocks from my place. I had no idea I lived in such an upscale neighborhood.
I spotted a McLaren 600LT yesterday on GA-140. Also maintaining a sedate 3-miles-under-the-limit speed. I guessed that the driver assumes she has a huge target on her back for every cop around. Must have been frustrating to feel that engine rumble and throb, while being passed by my little 4-cylinder Mazda 3.
Yesterday we took the MG to Bellingham to have a drink with friends we haven’t seen in years. As we neared the brewery, a (Primrose?) yellow chrome-bumper MGB was coming from the other direction. We waved at each other.
In Pescadero over the weekend:
I caught a brief glimpse of a Morgan 3-Wheeler this past Saturday going the opposite direction on the highway. That particular bit of highway, running through Gorst, WA, is a good place for car-spotting. It’s a bottleneck part of the only freeway running through a rural county where people like to take their special cars on a drive. I saw a legendary pink Mustang there last year.
What appeared to be a Ferrari GTC4lusso, first one I’ve ever seen.
This morning I saw a C1 Corvette. It was the four headlight version, so late 1950s or early 1960s. It was somewhat modified, with a lowered suspension and modern aftermarket wheels.
I also saw some sort of Alfa Romeo, I’d guess from the 1960s or 70s. From looking at Wikipedia my best guess is that it was a GT 1300 Junior.
Last night I stopped to get some take-out on the way home. As I was leaving the taqueria I spotted this Ferrari in the parking lot, and circled the lot to snap those photos. My knowledge of exotics isn’t that extensive, but from looking at Wikipedia I think it’s a Portofino.
Yesterday afternoon I saw a dark green Mustang Mach I getting on the freeway in Bellingham.
I loved the Mach 1. I don’t think the Mach E is an acceptable replacement.
A 3rd generation AMC Rambler Classic (1965-66) 2-door convertible parking in a driveway a few blocks from our house. Looked in great shape, not showroom restored but definitely a well loved car. I’m just a few years older and wish I looked so good.
Not to mention Mach is a number
On a walk tonight I spotted a pristine 1980’s Fiat X1/9 in red. Man, those things were low to the ground.
Driving home tonight I saw a Chrysler Prowler and later, a beautiful 69 Mustang convertible. Black with a white top.
