What's the most interesting car you saw today?

My brother went to the show today.

That’s cool about the Aitekx truck. They’re so new that there were no hits when I searched wiki for them.

Went out to pick up lunch this afternoon. As I was leaving I spotted this Model A in the far end of the parking lot.

I had an interesting car that was interesting for the wrong reasons. Last night I happened to see someone in my parking lot with their hood up. I grabbed my jump pack and walked out to see if they needed help. It was some old beater of a car, a 20 year old Mitsubishi maybe? I don’t know, it was dark, I was cold, I didn’t look.
In any case, I hooked up the jump pack and got an error on it. As I’m fiddling with it, I noticed a minus sign next to the battery post with the red cable coming off of it and a plus sign next to the post with the multiple black cables.
A)If there was ever a reason to have a jump pack, that was it. If someone tried jumping that with their own vehicle, something would have let the smoke out*.
B)It obviously didn’t have the correct battery in it, it was smaller than the tray, was missing the hold down and the cable ends were aftermarket. How did someone get all the wires the wrong color? Protip: Using a red cable to connect the negative side of the battery to the chassis/engine is asking for problems. Making all the cables black would have been better since I would have had to look at the battery before connecting anything.

Also, unrelated, but I’ve never understood why people drive around with their battery just bouncing around in the tray. I’ve even used zip ties in a pinch. I always worry that if I don’t hold the battery down, it’s going to bounce around and end up shorting itself on something. I think Just Rolled In sometimes has pictures of cars with burns on the underside of the hood from that.

*Come to think of it, I have a feeling all the cables being the wrong color, having homemade clamps and the incorrectly installed incorrect battery means someone probably jumped it backwards at some point and burned up all the wires. And, I’ll fully admit to doing that once. I jumped a forklift (with a car) backwards. No damage to the car, but I spent the next hour or two tracking down and replacing all the burned wires on the forklift. That forklift, on a different occasion, also taught me why you unhook the negative cable first, as I shorted the positive terminal to the frame with a wrench.

What beauty WildaBeast AHOOGA

Lambo of some sort, super sparkly paint job. On Regent St, under the Christmas lights., London.

While on a very early-morning Wawa run, I came across a guy whose car’s side panel was hanging on by a thread. I asked him if he’d been hurt, and he said he hadn’t. He’d hit a pothole in the adjacent Walmart parking lot. With a little help from my flashlight and some pulling on both our parts, we got the side panel removed and tossed in his trunk.

A coworker showed up at work the other day with her new Ford Maverick…a crew cab short bed pickup!

I’ve no problem with the configuration, but have no idea what Ford was thinking, naming the truck after a very mediocre car from the 70’s.

I believe this is an Austin 7. Spotted it deftly cutting off a Mercedes-Benz for a parking spot near Kew Gardens outside London. The MB driver was not pleased. Anyone know how to figure out the year?

A 1963 Porsche 356B T6 cabriolet. It was parked very safely.

Google is coming back with a 1933 or 1934 Austin 10.

Ah, you’re right, it looks like an Austin 10 Colwyn Cabriolet, which was produced from 1933-4 before a facelift for the 1935 model.

Ahh, I’d confused it with a Lotus 7, and thought "Wait, that looks nothing like Number Six’s car!"

Because I can apparently only post about Volkswagen pickup trucks, here is one I saw today. Looks like it is a Volkswagen Saveiro, based on the license plate, has driven up from Chihuahua, Mexico.

Stupid chicken tax.

I like that side step!

I opened the Tonka trucks I ordered for my grandson, and will ship them across the country to him for Christmas. I had these same trucks back over 55 years ago, so it was cool to check them out. Tonka is a piece of American toy history.

All right! I had some similar about the same time. They where metal, and would rust. Hope your grandson has a sand box!

McLaren GT.

Sorry for the crappy picture I took while driving in the rain. (Traffic was slow, so it wasn’t too dangerous, despite what my wife may say.)

A 7th Generation (1989-97) Mercury Cougar. I much prefered this as a Thunderbird. I think this is 1993 or 1994, making it 30 years old.

Some cars simply speak for themselves

(or, for herself)

An old blue pickup with the wooden walls in the cargo area. It was very pretty-a kind of teal blue/green. What made me look at it twice were the old ESSO decals on the doors. Probably replicas, but some people have a lot of money for hobbies.
