A Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi V-8 SRT/8 hauling down I-280 from San Bruno after the SF Giants game (where they swept the A’s!) - it was doing 100-120, it haul zass.
A Mini Clubman. No biggie, except that it was hauling berries in from the field to the sorting shed. They had created some custom racks in the back to hold the berries.
A cherry 1963 Buick Riviera in Jet black (pic is very similar)driving the opposite direction from me after work. I wish I could have seen it standing still because it looked like a great restoration.
I saw what i believe was a '51 mercury on a flat bed trailer being towed across the Bay Bridge. (actually was yesterday, but I’ve been tied up with work the last couple days, so there.)
The 51 merc. was the car driven by the Pharaohs in American Graffiti, if you were wondering. This one was a spot on match to that one, with the same window modifications and high gloss paint, but it was a dark green, not the ruby red finish like the movies.
Did a quick search for the status of the original, and found out it is being restored in New Jersey, if the information was correct.
Anyhoo, was a stunning car, and wish I could have taken a closer look, but traffic was pretty heavy, so was only able to take a few quick looks and that was that.
I saw a Dodge Promaster City today, just hours after learning that the vehicle existed. I’m interested in all these new small cargo vans in the US. Maybe I’ll start a thread on that.
I saw my second one today. It was white, with black and light blue highlights, like the 2012 concept car, like in this picture: news101.co.za
That last time, it was driving and so on was I. I only caught it briefly. This one was parked and I was on foot, up close. It is very angular, with angular bulges here and there, and small winglets at the rear. The impression to me today, was similar to when in 1980 I saw my first Countach, that’s how it struck me.
I just spent a week in the Monterey Bay area, leading up to the Pebble Beach Concourse. Just being in the area, I saw everything from modern supercars, gorgeous old Ferrari’s, 356 Porsches and Jaguar E-Types, and quirky old cars like BMW Isettas (mini two-seaters you get into by opening up the front “face” of the car - there were maybe 10), Cobras both original and new, etc. Always amazing.
Well shoot. I was there too. I thought about posting what I saw here, but after my first five minutes at Laguna Seca, I realized I’d probably break the board.
I walk past the Four Seasons Hotel here in Atlanta everyday. I could start a recurring post here, because there all always sweet cars being valeted in or out.
Today it was a couple of Tesla S models, an immaculate Jaguar XJR (the one from around model year 2000), and a white Ferrari 458.
You and me both. I was at the Four Seasons Palo Alto when I saw the BMW i8 I posted about the other day. I don’t get to the Four Seasons much, but if I did I imagine there’d be sweet cars there every day.
I saw my first BMW X6 today. It didn’t really stand out from the crowd as much as I thought it would. I’ve seen videos of testing the M6 at the Nordschleife. and that looks like a hoot to drive. The SUV really stuck to the wet pavement at speed.
