What's the most interesting car you saw today?

Intermeccanica Italia

In the garage I was walking by; I asked what it was & had to ask again. Don’t think I know of 'em. - 2 demerits to my guy card. :frowning:

First generation Chevy El Camino in red. It had the same tailfins as the car I saw the other day, so I now know what other models to check out.

I think it was a Biscayne now that I’ve identified the model year (1959-60). It’s possible it was an Impala as well.

A Suburban-like Dodge Ramcharger…custom made with FOUR DOORS!

I saw a Studebaker Lark, a 1950s-era Buick Eight, and a bustle-back Cadillac Seville while taking my son to a Boy Scout event this evening. I didn’t get a closer look because the guy posted No Trespassing and No U-Turn signs in front of the garage so I didn’t dare stop for very long.

Pretty eclectic collection there. The Seville was very well-maintained and might even have been a daily-driver, but the other cars were just rotting away with other less interesting cars surrounding them. Too bad.

I saw a military 5-ton truck with California civilian license plates. The truck had the “super singles” tires on it, and the camouflage paint - the Vietnam jungle woodland camo scheme. I couldn’t see any tac marks as it went quickly past, so couldn’t tell if it was a former Army or Marine Corps truck. The tac markings may have been removed before transfer to civilian use.

I used to have a license for these rigs. Humvees, M-151 Jeeps, a deuce-and-a-halfs too. I wish I could still drive them.

Having my own personal deuce-and-a-half would be way cool but the boss, SWMBO, would never go for that.

Women (sigh).

A Mitsubishi i-MiEV, very few sold and for good reason.

A few days ago I saw what I think was a 1969 Citroën DS Station Wagon, which parked right outside an art exhibition we were visiting.

Can I post a motorcycle here? Yesterday I saw a 1968 BSA 650 Lightning. I was stopped at a light and it pulled up next to me. I did a double take, then rolled down my window and asked, “What year?” The driver looked proud.

There was a nearby car show today. I didn’t make it over but judging by what I saw (that must have been leaving) when I was out it looked very Jimmy Buffetish - Fins to the Left, Fins to the Right.

I also saw the car that I really, really want. Not sure why but I love 'em. A Checker Cab.

I haven’t heard of/from them in years. I honestly thought they had gone out of business.

Late 80’s early 90’s VW Corrado G60. I had almost forgotten about these. Looked in good shape and popped like a race car whenever he let off the gas.

A 2nd generation (1968-72) Chevy Chevelle SS, cruising past us on the highway. Dark blue with the two big white stripes.

Online: This 1934 Buick series 90 club sedan. Talk about class, and affordable too. Well, it was once.

IRL: White Ford Focus whose left front wheel spontaneously fell off while crossing a busy intersection downtown.

I saw tons today. The Ford show is in town. Cobras, all manner of Mustangs, I even saw a Turnpike Cruiser. Welcome to car show season.

3rd generation (1965-70) Ford Falcon in light blue. It’s probably not a daily driver here in New Engalnd, but it wasn’t restored to showroom condition.

Also a brand new (4th generation) Toyota Prius - it looks like they tried to make it more muscular and masculine, but they just made it a little more tacky.

Neil Young’s '59 Lincoln Continental convertible was parked out in front of my customer’s home here in south Orange County, CA. (Neil wasn’t there.) My customer works with Neil on the car trying to keep the electric/ hybrid demonstrator vehicle running. He says Neil is just putting too many miles on it. Its supposed to be a “demonstrator vehicle”, but he’s put 55,000 miles on it.

I love Neil’s music and heard he’s a really nice guy, but I have to say that this is one butt-ugly car!

The cool thing about it is, it has a microturbine range extender. One moving part, no oil lubrication, meets all emission standards.

5 wieners and a nut. If you look closely you can see a 6th wiener in the distance behind the nut. One wiener. The nut.

These were parked in Oscar Mayer’s Madison plant today, which has been closed down for a while. The Planters Nut is new – it wasn’t there yesterday. And I’ve never seen so many wienermobiles in one place at one time, even though they were quartered in Madison and I’ve been here more than 20 years. A sight possibly never to be seen again.

7 street legal VW dune buggies just cruised by the shop. Which had me giving Mistermage the stink-eye as I looked at him and then the 3 dune buggy frames sitting around. The timing was perfect because we were talking with Middle Son who was musing about getting a motorcycle and I said a buggy would be more practical and safer (deer country).
