What's the most interesting car you saw today?

A 427 Cobra.

HOO-WAH!

A top-down Audi R8, taking his share of both lanes in his direction to smooth out the curves. (No other cars going his way)

I saw a procession of 10 second-gen Chargers, a Royal Special, a few Imperials, various Dusters, Darts, and Challengers. The Chrysler show is in town, and it’s dominated by post-war and '60s muscle.

On the way home from work on Friday- Not one, but two Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell cars. I’m not even sure where you refuel them.
They’re very anime looking, like you’d drive them to your job at the giant robot factory.

James Bond would love one of these, for the hydrogen fuel cell under the rear seats would make for marvelous ejection seats, and the free hydrogen for the first three years would make ejection evil masterminds very cost effective.

I saw a gorgeous Citroen SM down at the harbour yesterday, looking like it had just driven out of 1972. Just beautiful.

An Aston Martin Vantage - at least I think that’s the model. I was behind it and never saw any badges. Who buys a brown sports car?

Two well dressed 30 somethings passed out from drugs in a doorwell at 6AM . probably heroin. One might not have been breathing. Yes, 911 was called.

Very interesting, but not really car related …

I didnt see any interesting cars today but I did see that.

But this thread is about cars/vehicles? Gladys?

Today was a nice and sunny day: a bright red Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce, top down, driven by a beautiful lady with big blonde hair. The sun, the red of the car, and the bright blonde of her hair were a nice visual combination.

A 1959 Cadillac Eldorado. It’s parked just down the road from me and looks absurd.

Interesting. I did an image search on the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado, and what you call absurd is a car that I would love to have if I had a 10-car garage and the money. I’d love to drive one of those on a cross-country trip – a pink one, a convertible. Those big fins are… big, over the top, yes, but I call that “style”, the style of the times.

So, I guess that beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

(BTW, that 10-car garage is a vision / dream my wife and I share, and we often discuss what cars and motorcycles we’d love to have in our harem. It’s a fun discussion!)

It looks like a Kandi Viper 250. Powered by a 250cc, 4 cyl. engine. I believe they are in the $6-8K range, new

It does look like that. Thank you.

That is so funny. My boyfriend and I do the same thing (though it’s an eight-car garage) and GUESS what my first pick is? I have the same model currently on a shelf, and here is proof. https://flic.kr/s/aHsm4TKvdu

Had to decide between that or the Buick Invicta.

Love it!!

Today I saw an older Mercedes Benz 450 SL convertible.

A 1964 Gilbern GT1800 - made in Wales.

Objectively I can recognise its beauty. But in the context of a roadside surrounded by modern cars, and also I’m not in America, it loks very out of place and quite extreme in its design. It tried a bit too hard.

Nice. Had to look that up, hadn’t heard of Gilbern before. Here’s a pic

Gilbern, manufactured from 1959 to 1973 (Wikipedia), was named after its founders, Giles Smith and Bernard Friese: Gilbern, Gil for Giles and bern for Bernard.

Not being in America I completely understand. I, however, live in California and old tuna boat classics aren’t uncommon. And a cross-country road trip in a pink convertible would be a blast!
