What's the most interesting car you saw today?

Today, drove alongside one of those huge Fiat 500s. In beige no less. Yuck! Refrigerators are more attractive IMO.

A nicely maintained black 1968 Chevy Caprice zipped by me on the freeway this morning. The 3 round taillight type.

Another example of a car body shape that just gets to me. Low profile, seemingly, but actually quite wide and long so really a very large car. Fine car for cruisin’.

1960 Rambler Six at Panther Beach north of Santa Cruz.

A white Lotus Esprit. It was on the other side of the freeway, so I couldn’t tell if it was a turbo or not.

A Sprinter van of a mobile doggy wash/groomer w/ four separate A/C units on the roof. Four of 'em? Do they really need four of 'em?

Alfa Stelvio SUV

I was at the Silicon Valley Auto Show in San Jose yesterday. Some nice cars, and we’re looking for electric for my wife. Yes, she wants a golf cart.

We liked the Tesla 3 and the Chevy Bolt.

We have a Bolt and I like it a lot. Roomier inside than it looks; silent; and instant torque at any speed. Fun!

I did notice the expected range dropped a lot during the recent cold snap we had here in Missouri. In the middle of the summer, the expected range on a full charge was around 240 miles. In the recent string of days with sub-10-degree temperatures, the expected range went down to 140 miles. That’s still plenty for us, just kind of surprising to see such a steep drop. Luckily, that kind of cold snap is very uncommon in this area.

Even with that issue, I still love the car.

Good to know, thanks. I’m impressed with the Bolt. It’s a nice car.

1958 Oldsmobile

A white Lamborghini Aventador, in downtown San Carlos.

And then a blue 1967 Pontiac Firebird in the evening commute on Highway 101.

Two on my walk this morning:

Sixth Generation (1967-70) Cadillac Eldorado. Wow, those doors were long, and the trunk and hood seem to go on forever.

A Maserati Ghibli SQ4, probably out because of the nice weather.

A Puma…Brazillian kit car.

A 1970 Olds Chevelle SS just like the one inthispicture. Sounded as good as it looks!

It was actually yesterday, but coming home from work I passed a Fisker Karma. Considering they only sold 1800 of them, back in 2012, I certainly didn’t expect to see one driving through Sacramento of all places…

A white 1st-generation Toyota MR2. Crisp, and clean, with no caffeine.

A second one, this one was white.

I just saw a late 70s Caddilac Opera Coupe, just like this one (http://images.thetruthaboutcars.com/2010/09/seville-grandeur-opera-coupe.jpg-courtesy-flickr.jpg), except the one I saw was white and a little rough around the edges. Those were ugly, ridiculous cars.

I have a coworker selling a 1994 Alfa Romeo 164 LS with an engine designed by a Fiat, then Ferrari, designer. The engine was built at Ferrari. Apparently only 300 were imported. Hmmm. It’s making me wish my money wasn’t allocated elsewhere.

First generation Mustang, couldn’t tell the particulars as it was dark out. Why it was outside in the Boston winter I have no idea.
