Whats wrong with me?

Hi everyone, long time reader first time poster (finally got the guts)

Anyways onto my problem…

A while ago i discovered some ummm red dots, actually more like little blood blisters on my ummm scrotum. Only on the left side. I went to the doctor and he told me that they probably were shingles (i guess it has something to do with me having the chicken pox when i was little)

He told me that it should clear up in a few months and he wouldn’t give me any medication unless it was painful (which it wasn’t)

I lied to him out of embarrassment and told him that i give myself self testicular checks. But now its been about a year since i first noticed them and they haven’t gone away. Some times the left one aches dully and now i’m all parnoid about cancer.

Since it didn’t clear up as fast as he said it would, i’m worried that it’s at least a little more serious than shingles.

so can little blood blisters be an sign of cancer, if not then what else can it be? Because of a change in my insurance i can’t go back to my old doctor and make an appointment.

I want to get this taken care of because its a little embarassing with the ladies and has been really killing my sex life. Plus it would really put my mind at ease.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

I don’t know what the question is or even if there is one but I know what the answer is: see a doctor.

One more vote here for “see a doctor”. We can’t diagnose your “little red blood blisters” over the Internet, and even if we could, we wouldn’t, for reasons of legal liability.

Skin irritations can be a sign of many things - hie yerself to a professional, ASAP!

Already said but you need to see a doctor…period.

A few other things though:

I always had heard that Shingles was extremely, maybe not painful, but extremely uncomfortable. I could be worng on this though…just what I’ve heard.

Do NOT lie to your doctor. I understand some things may be embarrassing but you are only hurting yourself. Your doctor can’t help you well if he or she doesn’t have as many facts as possible. Swallow your pride and let them have the truth even if it’s ugly. Besides, any doctor who’s been around awhile has seen or heard almost all of it before so you are unlikely to shock them. If your doctor turns out to be judgemental (which they shouldn’t be) then find yourself a different doctor who’s more pragmatic.

you can try webmd.com they have lots of pictures & info for ya.

strange thing is our local hospitals have info lines which I can call with questions about things like this & its free but no one ever seems to know this.

  1. Go see the doctor.
  2. Tell the truth.
  3. Nothing bad will happen.
  4. Relax. The news will probably be good and come as a relief (I was in the same situation a while back thinking my heart was about to pack in).
  5. Even if there IS a problem, it is very, very likely that it’s fixable. The doctor will take the appropriate steps to restore you to health, and you’ll feel great for having addressed the problem and done something about it.
