When in Singapore, a freshly drawn pint of Tiger Beer.
In the UK a pint of London Pride, for the reasons garius gave.
Used to drink it by the bucketful when I lived in the midwest. Now that I’m back in Georgia, and out of the nine-state distribution area, I miss it terribly.
I will admit to being a beer snob. My favorite beer maker by leaps and bounds is Rogue from Oregon. Every beer they make is extraordinary. Specials nods go to their stout and Smoke, which tastes a bit like a smoked sausage in a pleasant way.
Honorable mentions go to Dogfish Stout, so rich it is just about a dessert beer. Xingu Black Beer from Brazil is utterly unique and is closer to an alcoholic root beer. Caramely and delicious.
dont like beer too much, hard cider is more to my taste. I am still looking for the perfect one.
Aside from my own (unfortunately I haven’t been able to make any for the past few years), it would have to be Samuel Smith’s IPA. No question.
There is a brewery not too far from me called Mac & Jacks, and they make a beer called African Amber. Every time I drink some of it (which is as often as I can) I wipe the suds from my lip and say “Damn! That is a good beer!”.
Other favorites are the seasonal Nut Browns at the McMenimans breweries, most any IPA, and Fat Tire.
[slight hijack] Mmmmmm. Is there any reason not to have a beer with breakfast when you are on vacation?[/slight hijack]
Boddingtons. Yum! Great on tap, pretty darn good in the fancy cans. But expensive. So…
Redhook ESB
Live Oak (not available in bottles, gotta go out to get it on tap)
Shiner Bock
Real Ale, all varieties
Red Stripe ('specially on sale!)
Newcastle Brown Ale
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Saranac Black and Tan (forgot about that one! Thanks, St. Anger! Can’t get it in Texas.)
And my favorite microbrew of all time is from Roslyn, WA. Slurp.
And I’m also a hard cider fan, if it’s dry. It’s shockingly easy to make yourself. Or at least it was shockingly easy when I lived in a climate that wasn’t over 90˚F all the damn time. My favorite commercial brand is Dry Blackthorn. All the other brands I’ve tried are too sweet for my taste.
Have you tried Hornsby’s? I like it a lot. It’s got a great apple flavor to it with a nice bite as well. For beers, nothing has topped Abita Amber for me but I also like Anchor Steam and Abita Turbo Dog, especially Draft Turbo Dog.

Tied: Golden Valley Red Thistle & Golden Valley Porter.
Almost any Porter or Nut Brown Ale from an Oregon microbrewery is worth a taste.
after that:
Black Butte Porter
Fat Tire
and believe it or not Michelob’s Porter is pretty good.
john courage
moosehead
newcastle
I think it’s Beck’s. I also like Bass, Harp’s, Newcastle, and a bunch of local stuff. I like everything from the Pyramid Brewery in Berkeley, everything from Sudwerks up in Davis, and in particular most everything from the Anderson Valley Brewing Company out in Boonville (particularly that Boont Amber Ale ohhh yeah).
Widmer Hefeweizen, favorite by a long way.
Red Hook ESB
Hale’s Cream Ale
Black Butte Porter
Pilsner Urquell
Corona
Heineken
Beck’s
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Anchor Steam
Lowenbrau (NOT the crap made by Miller)
Bigfoot Ale
Sol
XX-Lager
Indio
Grolsch, in immense quantities.
and sometimes Guiness. and Kronenbourg 1664
Real Ales:
Tanglefoot (Badger)
Gale’s HSB
Ringwood 49’er
Lagers
Budweiser (the original Czech one)
Various German ones, that names of which I’ve forgotten.
Unfotunately, I’m doing a low carb diet at the moment
Crownies… if only I could afford them all the time (poor uni student).
Carlton Draught for just normal… good stuff!
Tooheys New sucks.
IBC and Barqs
My favororite beer is the next one…
Newcastle Brown Ale
Grolsch
Any oatmeal stout
