Oldest of two and the only girl. My parents actually had 4 children but my older brother and one of my younger brothers both died at birth. I don’t know how that factors into your survey but I thought I’d give you as much information as possible.
Youngest of two - one older brother.
Sixth son, but eighth child of nine. Seven boys, two girls born across 20 years to the same parents.
Oldest of three. I have a sister 2 years younger and a brother who is 8 years younger.
Middle child of three.
Oldest of four, and the only boy.
Oldest of five.
Eldest of 3 – two boys, then a daughter.
Youngest of three daughters…I was an unexpected pregnancy when abortions were still illegal in Australia.
But as my mum still loves to assure me, “It’s the one you least want who ends up giving you the most joy in life”. Hah…I’m sure I’ve given her the most grief too, but in her dotage she’s luckily forgotten all of that!
Essentially an only child; a brother born several years before me died of SIDS before my birth.
Youngest of 5, 4th girl.
4th of 5 biological siblings
middle daughter
2 dems 2 repubs, 1 Ind
5 hetero’s
all married, no divorce
We all live in different states (0f mind)
I guess it depends on how you look at it for me.
I grew up as the younger (by 2.5 years) brother of two.
My parents had a baby boy that died at 6 days old 10 years before my older brother was born (my brother, therefore, is the Third, even theough Dad was the First).
My parents divorced in the 70s; my dad remarried a much younger woman.
(whoopeee!..cue the Burt Bacharach or Carol King music as the score to my pre-adolescent/post-divorce vandal phase, ala A Clockwork Orange)
Then, when I was 21, they adopted a baby girl, so I have had a little sister since I was 21.
In practical terms though, I was the baby of my nuclear family.
Oldest of 2; only son.
I first saw the thread title as “Birth Ordnance”, which I figured was like a birth stone, except with explosives. I wanted to be something cool and retro like a WWII tank shell.
Anyway, I’m the youngest of four boys – the only marriage and only children of my parents.
I saw ordinance, and was tempted to say, “No spitting on the sidewalk.”
Oldest of five, only girl.
Elder of two sons.
I am the youngest of four, second daughter.
Eldest of three, elder of the two who survived, though I’m only about 18 months older than my sister.
