Haagen-Dazs Peanut Butter & Chocolate. Well, any pb&c, really, but of the ones I’ve tried, Haagen-dazs is my favorite – they have enough peanut butter for the amount of chocolate. Baskin-Robbins is next on my list, but I can’t get that at my supermarket.
Ice cream is my biggest weakness. I don’t think I’m exaggerating, either. Which is sad.
Coconut (why is it so hard to find in the U.S.?). Or maybe hazelnut.
My favorite kind of ice cream that I can find regularly is Mint Chocolate Chip. On rare occasions I have found mint ice cream made with actual bits of mint candy in it…but I haven’t seen it in over twenty years so I will have to go with Mint Chocolate chip as my fave.

I’m with Fretful Porpentine:
Coconut is the best. I just wish it weren’t so hard to find.
Novus
butter pecan.
I would kill every one of you for some mint chocolate chip ice cream. That is all.
Butter pecan.
ever hear of pistachio? It tastes liek cereal.
I told my boss some of these icecreams, and she glared at me and mumbled something… I don’t think she likes me very much.
Oh well, I’m only there for her money, not her.
my own favorite is either haagen dazs rum raisin or pralines and cream, but this thread title made me remember that my mother, dead these 30 years and more, liked nutty flavors, maple walnut and butter pecan, and sometimes over the last three decades, I’ve ordered one of these flavors and just thought about my mom enjoying her ice cream. They’re not my favorite flavors, but I probably enjoy indulging myself remembering her small pleasures.
There is only Graeter’s. If you do not live in Cincinnati, it is well worth the thousands of dollars for a plane ticket to get there, for Graeter’s is the perfect ice cream.
If I can’t get to Cincy and have to shop at the grocery, just about anything from Ben and Jerry, but especially Half Baked.
Or Godiva Belgian Dark Chocolate. No chunks, no lumps, no excitement, just very, very good chocolate ice cream.
They’re NOT making the Chocolate Heath Bar Crunch anymore?
How could they do that? Dang it, that was just about my favourite flavour, too.
top fav Ice creams
Malt Chocolate Fudge Swirl ice cream from the Candy Kitchen, Indian Rocks Beach, FL. Goooooood stuff.
Probably it does.
So have you tried this pinnacle of ice-cream-ness yet?
Lab2490 …I have a pint of Phish Food in my freezer right now. (Now that I’m reminded, it’ll probably be gone by this evening).
My top 5 are:
As a kid, my favorite was Sticky Chewy Chocolate from Swensen’s Ice Cream Parlor. (if you don’t know, it’s a restaurant chain)
To eat at home, my favorite is to take Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla and top it with Nestle’s Quik mixed with water to make a chocolate syrup. My mom got me started on this as a kid–we always had Quik around to make chocolate milk–and I prefer it to real chocolate syrup.
But the best ice cream of all is Italian gelato! Tried different places and different flavors all over Italy and they were all great. My favorite gelato is riso gelato from Vivoli’s in Florence (as described by Rick Steves in his guidebooks). It’s made with rice and has actual rice grains in it. Sounds strange, but it was wonderful!
I’m really boring. I like Vanilla Ice cream with Milo sprinkled on it…
I also like Mint Choc Chip but not as much as I like the above
