A media noche …must…resist…urge…to…make…one…now
My favorite is made by a Vietnamese restaurant in my neighborhood (the Saigon Cafe & Bakery, for those in the Twin Cities area). They make their own crusty little loaves of bread and slice them in half lengthwise. Then they layer on BBQ’d pork, fresh jalapenos, carrots, onions, cilantro, cucumbers and mayonaise and it’s pure heaven.
Homemade, I like to roast sesame seeds and stir them into peanut butter and honey. Spread it on some bread (or better yet, toast) and top with white grapes, bananas or raisins. So delicious.
Without a doubt.

The "Original Eastern Grinder ".
Ham, salami, cappicola, and provolone cheese. Lettuce spinkled with oregano, doused with oil, and enough red wine vinegar to make the lettuce pink. Add fresh onion slices, tomatoes, and bananna peppers. Slather the top of the bun with real mayo. Serve it all on a freshly baked italian bun. With the added bonus of getting the sandwich hot, cold or oven baked.
