What's your favorite sandwich?

Subway 6" turkey on whole wheat, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, green peppers, olives, cucumbers, and pepper - no salt.

I am very pedestrian in my sandwich choices.

Susan

Yep, I forgot to leave my reply.

Almost anything cold from Subway; on wheat with everything on it, hold the sweet peppers, and add extra lettuce and hot peppers.

Man, I love cold cuts.

Cheez Whiz (only two e’s) is a brand name for a product that looks like orange library paste. However, when melted, it turns into a soft, salty mass that is the perfect companion to the yeasty-crusty roll, savory beef, and sweet-sharp onions that join with it to form that Sandwich of Sandwiches, the Cheesesteak.

I was going to say that any resemblance to any cheese, living or dead, is purely coincidental, but I see from Hugh Jass’ link that it does indeed contain actual dairy products. Who’d’a thought?

I miss cheesesteaks :frowning:

real peanut butter(not that commercialized Jif crap) and sprouts.
yes, sprouts!
keeps it from sticking.

I can’t believe that no one has mentioned the muffulettas from Central Grocery in New Orleans! Oh God! If I had to choose a last meal… hmmmm!!

As far as sandwiches at home, my GF turned me on to the joy that is the grilled cheese with bacon, although I use more cheese and bacon than she does!

Could you please explain to me what’s on a monte cristo? I’m terribly intrigued.

I have had Virginia Ham with Kraft aged swiss cheese on a sub bun every weekday for the last 7 years. That is not obsessive. Now, I leave you to line up the pencils in every desk throughout the office.

It’s a fried club sandwitch. really.

Wait, wait, I didn’t know you could include burgers! Steak 'N Shake Double Cheeseburger with chili on it. Or White Castle burgers (flame me!).

I have it on good authority that God makes himself a Reuben twice a day…

Damn this thread. On the one day I didn’t eat lunch or breakfast and can’t eat until I get out of class at 5:30…grrr…

French Honey Cured Ham, Keen’s Cheddar, Branston Pickle, and Sliced Strong Picled Onions, on Fresh white slices of cottege bread.
Oh damn I’ve drooled all over my key board.
Cheers, Keithy

Pastrami (the fatty kind) on rye, mustard only.

Liverwurst, any bread.

I’m gonna dig out the bologna and cheese and pretend it’s pastrami…hell, even bologna is good though…gonna eat now.

Johnny Rocket’s hamburger with the works… hot DAMN those’r good eats.

Lettuce, tomatoe, mayo, three thin slices of cheddar cheese on a toasted bagel. I work right next door to a Great Canadian Bagel, so that’s my lunch most days.

Tuna w/lettuce+tomato on wheat OR Ham=chese w/l+t on Pumpernickel w/spicy mustard.

carlotta,
I had no luck finding the Cheese Shop. Help, I want a Combo.

The chicken salad club from Perly’s on Grace Street in downtown Richmond:

Chicken salad

Lettuce
Tomato
Mayo
Bacon

on toasted whole wheat, with a dill pickle spear, potato chips, and a Coke

In this order:
One slice of bread, with very litle mayo
a slice of ham
a slice of american cheese
another slice of ham
3 pickles
a slice of bread, no mayo

Cut diagonally, and crusts removed.

Anyone in Chicagoland catch the PBS special on the best sandwiches of Amers? One of the featured sandwiches was a “Made Rite” from Marshalltown Iowa - loose, cooked ground beef on a bun - nothing else. Imagine a sloppy joe without the sauce. The meat isn’t even seasoned. I love a good burger, but how could one of these possibly taste good?

Not certain how ‘America’ turned into ‘Amers’… but it wasn’t my fault. Really!
