What's Your Favourite Online Comic?

Allright, looking at my list of webcomics… Not gonna post links necessarily, because I don’t think I fully understand some of the policies thereof… because hey, they contain adult language, right? Then again, folks already referenced Penny Arcade… Oh, well. I figure it’d be okay to link them, but you can find them in Google anyway.

VG Cats - Videogame-themed.
Gaming Guardians - RPG Themed.
Diesel Sweeties
8-Bit Theater
Megatokyo
Sinfest
Sluggy Freelance
Elf Only Inn - If you’ve ever used IRC at all, you’ve met people like this.
Penny Arcade
PvP
Van Von Hunter - Anime-themed.

  • My current regulars. I keep meaning to start RPG World, but never get around to it.

I read 8 bit theater and Penny Arcade. PA is good, but I’d reccomend 8 bit theater to anyone, esspecialy Douglas Adams fans.

Schlock Mercenary is the best online strip I’ve ever seen. In the beginning, the artwork is a little sloppy, but the storyline is great, the characters compelling, and few things in life are better than Gravy Guns or Terapedos.

After seeing it recommended here, I’m a huge fan of Ozy and Millie. I also read Nodwick and Full Frontal Nerdity, but if you don’t play D&D or other roleplaying games, you probably won’t find those the least bit funny.

I’ll second the vote for Schlock Mercenary - definitely the best online comic out there. At a close second is The Gods of Arr-Kelaan.

I read far far too many webcomics, but these two clearly stand out from the crowd.

I love Something Positive, but it helps that I’m married to a gamer and that I have Goth in-laws. PvP Online is pretty fun as well.

Pibgorn. It may be in print, too, but I doubt it – the format wouldn’t work in newspapers today.

Oh, poot. I forgot Jerkcity.

I also read This Modern World, Red Meat, and The City ; but I’m not sure if those count because they get printed in newspapers, too.

Then there’s You Damn Kid

I highly recommend Dave Foster’s twisted comics.

Most of my regular stops are already here. Ghastly and Sexy Losers never fail to give me a chuckle, as well as PvP.

Not mentioned yet, Angels 2200. Hooked me quick after the first couple I read.

I thoroughly recommend Zebra Girl, the best of the many comics I’ve read.

GPF was really great up to the end of the major mid-2003 plot swing; after that, it just seemed to get sort of tired. And I second kitarak’s seconding of Schlock Mercenary. Both of these are on Keenspot, with a listing of a bunch of other free comics. Among those I recommend You Damn Kid and Men in Hats.

A great one is Absurd Notions, which I’ve just noticed is back online after a long hiatus. Woohoo!

Lastly, The Parking Lot Is Full is truly outstanding. Sometimes amusing, sometimes horrifying or disturbing.

Here comes a special boy!

Achewood is wonderful.

The Parking Lot is Full was great (while it lasted).

My two favorites (none of the other are close) are Schlock Mercenary and Something Positive.

Other good ones are Adventurers, Goats, Errant Story, and UnderPower.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned Bruno Baldwin.

Another vote for Sluggy Freelance,

And one for the currently on hiatus “Angst Technology”

I also read:

User Friendly
College Roommates From Hell

Other people have already mentioned all of my current favorites, except for MacHall.

Would Homestar Runner count?

Stuff by David Rees, including but not limited to the inimitable Get Your War On.

Another webcomic junkie checking in.

MY fave:
http://www.lowbright.com/

Not a webcomic in the conventional sense, but still amazing.
Also, http://www.verunne.net/ DID have a webcomic section I believe, although it seems to be down for maintainance at the moment. I haven’t had time to read but admire the artwork greatly.

Lastly, http://www.psychoteers.com/ anime style christian fundementalism! Portal of Evil describes it at a cross between Manga and Jack Chick.

I read a lot of webcomics, including many those people have mentioned, - Megatokyo, Schlock Mercenary, Real Life, GPF, ect. I currently have 74 webcomics bookmarked that I follow - thank God for Firefox’s “Open in tabs” feature.

Some good ones that people haven’t mentioned.

College Roomies from Hell! - reminds me of my friends, but with Werecoyotes, Laser Vision, Cthulhu, and Satan.

Krakow The tale of two college roomates, a succubus, and Neo-Nazis.

8-bit Theater The only sprite comic that I read; great parody of Final Fantasy and D&D.

Blue Zombie Has the cutest zombies you will ever see.

A Miraclel of Science Really good Sci-fi type comic.

Narbonic The day to day life of Dave Davenport the hapless computer engineer, his evil but attractive mad scientist boss Helen B. Narbon, and the evil(but also attractive) intern/law student Mell. And a talking gerbil.

Rehabilitating Mr. Wiggles. Often strange, sometimes comments on major social topics (as he does in this week’s). Sometimes he can be a bit overly disturbing for no reason. Never boring.
