So you go to your barber or hairstylist. They ask you, “What do you want today?”
What are you wont to reply?
Me: “Number-1 all over; lose the sideburns.”

I usually keep my head shaved; or at least I used to. Nowadays I rarely feel like it, so I just cut it all off every few weeks.
3 on the sides, 4 on top. Then it grows until I can do a ‘business combover’ and that means it’s time to cut again.
I usually ask for ‘short and spiky’ or a crew cut. I haven’t had a haircut since mid-May though, so it’s getting a little long.
‘Just an inch or so off the bottom’. I have very long hair, and I want to keep it that way; it only gets an occasional trim. Since I don’t blow-dry it or colour it, I almost never get split ends or any damage to it, so it just needs a tidy-up now and then.
Bob in the back, at ear level. Don’t touch the bangs (which are currently boob-length.)
I really need a haircut too - the rest is at my shoulders and just long enough for me to be able to put in ponytails.
#1.5 all over (I graduated from a #2 to a #1.5 during the summer).
Shaved. I razor it every morning in the shower.
#2 all over. Don’t need a hairdresser for that.
One and a half all over, blocked in back.
Wow - there are a lot of us with a similar kind of hair style here.
No. 2 all over; I just mow my head every Monday morning. In the winter the beard grows untouched, but from March 21 to September 21, I mow that area too. Sometimes when it’s really hot and humid in the summertime, I use a No. 1.
#4 or #6 on the back and sides (or scissor-cut to a similar length), sides up off the ears, trim the top, thin out the sideburns and take them up ~1/2 an inch.
Get it out of my eyes!
I hate getting my hair cut. A PITA IMHO. I always used to put it off till I looked like Shaggy on Scooby Doo.
But, with that said, I did finally find someone I like. I used to play volleyball with her. My Wife also goes to her. Her setup is in her house. Now I just make an appointment (An appointment for a haircut !) every six weeks.
My cut is jokingly called the ‘Belize’. I got it cut shorter than usual when my Wife and I took a trip to Central America.
She offers me a beer and just cuts my hair. I don’t have to tell her anything.
Long layers, no texturing, no part. I cut my hair about every 8 weeks to keep it healthy since it’s so long.
I get it cut by a friend, usually twice a year. The length varies - somewhere below shoulder length all over, though. When she cut it for our three week Grand Canyon trip, it was shorter than usual and I almost freaked. However, it turned out to be a great length for the trip. I haven’t paid for a haircut in years.
Wait, what do the numbers #1, #1.5, #2 mean? Is this a mans’ thing?
I’m female and I get a trim mostly (mid -back length hair). Depends on if I’m growing layers out or want bangs.
The numbers are the sizes of those plastic guides that attach to electric clippers.
I think #1 is 1/8", #2 is 1/4" etc.
I usually razor shave my head every day in the shower.
Yeah, not very hippie-ish
I have mine like this now, but just a little more length in the front.
