I do fraud investigations for the company I work for. They are a finacial service on the web.
I’m also an amateur pool player. I’m pretty good and have won a few tournaments but am looking for a teacher. Anyone know of any leads in the Silicon Valley area of CA?
There’s nothing wrong with being a factory worker, dobbinaire. I worked in a factory for almost twenty-five years, until I was laid-off in March of 2000. Now I have two jobs. I work as a part-time reserve Resident Assistant at a half-way house for recovering female alcoholics (and their minor children), which means I work there every other weekend.
And in May I started working full-time as a legal secretary in a very busy one-lawyer office. I am learning lots. It’s nice to be employed again.
Cajun Man tells me I should update my profile. Maybe I’ll do that.
I am a machine operator in a factory making textile leather. Which is a fancy word for vinyl. It is used for car seats, dashboards, door pales, book covers, and swimming pool covers.
Technical Business Analyst for a department store chain. I design or enhance the systems that help put the stuff you like to buy into department stores.
I’m an IT security consultant, working for a large professional services firm. Most of the time I support financial auditors by reviewing the security and integrity of financial data at any old company in the UK.
I am a QMRP (Qualified Mental Retardation Professional). I work for a social service agency that serves the developmentally disabled. I am the case manager for our program (my program within the agency helps the clients get and keep community jobs). I am essentially in charge of making sure that all the case files are in order, writing each individual’s programs, and making sure that their needs are being served.
The above is an idea of my “official” duties for my job. I am also the one that gets called when someone is sick, or is upset, or is in trouble for something. Basically, I am there to advocate for our clients’ rights and needs, and to generally try to make their lives better.
Wahooo mattk. Are you a CISA(Certified Information Systems Auditor)? I’ll be sitting for the exam in June 2002-I missed the deadline this year. They’re highly in demand and it’s a worldwide designation. Between that and the CIA(Certified Internal Auditor)exam in November my year’s full of testing.
I work in the water billing department of the Customer Service division at Flint City Hall. I also work counter and phones in Customer Service, when necessary.
Billing is not easy, but that’s why I like it. I learn something new nearly every day. And sometimes trying to figure out what’s going on with a particular account can be a real adventure.
The rest of my day is spent being a mother to two “spirited” children, aged 4 and 19 months (not quite old enough to try & kill each other yet, but that day is coming), and wife to a professional musician.
Don’t suppose you’d want to move to Toronto, say about September? That’s when I’ll be hiring a compliance manager, who has to have a background in audit.
I just finished my second week as the CTO of a software company that does “digital life” (we have a lot of artificial intelligence experts, natural language processing for English and Japanese, etc.). My big challenge before the end of this year will be filling out the departments that are low on staff. Luckily, a number of people who have worked for me in the past are able to come work for me again.
If you define “job” as “what you do for money”, then I’m unemployed.
However, if you broaden the definition to include “and what you do for love”, then I am:
