When did you feel Trump needed to be impeached?

Or that the polling methodologies are so widely different to not be comparable.

Or that some extreme right wing dissenters in the broader population choose engage behavior that is tolerated elsewhere, but is not tolerated here so they were sanctioned and/or banned.

Or right wing dissenters themselves want an echo chamber, which they didn’t find here, so they left.

Or a bunch more things that counter your conclusion that dissenters were “driven out”.

They’re not supposed to diverge that much

Right because all the bad behavior is coming from one side.

There are echo chambers on both sides. I didbn’t think this was supposed to be one of those echo chambers.

None of these things counter my conclusion, they provide alternate (and frankly much less likely) explanatons. Of course they were driven out. I’ve said it dozen times. This place is Arrakis for conservatives and moderates and its disneyland for liberals.

We tend to drive away people unable to make coherent, fact-based posts. Why the people affected by this heavily skew toward supporting Trump is left as an exercise for the reader.

You cannot compare the results of a voluntary self selected respondent sample with a real poll.

FWIW, a research poll done in February 2017 (just a few weeks into the Trump presidency) indicated that 58% of Democrats already wanted Trump impeached.

When he bragged of obstructing justice. IIRC his tweet was, “I don’t obstruct unless I’m fighting back - and I’m fighting!” That’s a straight-up admission of a high crime.
