When the Big Day finally arrives for the United States, who will be the Dope's "Praeco Magnus?"

True but there are a few other factors at play here. First and foremost, there is continuity of government stuff that happens immediately when a President dies and it would be impossible to cover up. Second, JD Vance isn’t going to spend more than one second being VP when he can be POTUS. Lastly, I’d say the McConnell “cover up” was more of a colossal clusterfuck. No one believed the official narrative for a second and journalists/Youtubers were constantly investigating. And as it turned out, McConnell was actually still (much to our collective dismay) alive. I don’t think a cover up would have been as effective if he had passed on. For Trump, I’d love to see these clowns try it.

So would I. Starting later this afternoon…

While I appreciate the enthusiasm, I started the Suffer in Hell thread for a reason, and that’s where you’ll find me (at least initially).

Every silver lining has a cloud.

Vance will be as effective as a screen door on a submarine and will be discarded quicker than Hari-Krisha literature handed out at a Rodeo.

Here’s my hope.

  1. The Democrats win the presidency and decisive majorities in the House and the Senate in the 2028 election.
  2. Rip van Simple croaks immediately after surrendering, I mean leaving office on January 20, 2029.
  3. The new president issues an executive order stating the recently deceased former president will not be honored with the lowering of the national ensign at government and military installations, nor will he receive a military funeral.
  4. The appropriate Congressional leadership issue statements that the recently deceased former president will not be honored with laying in state at the Capitol.

This all fits in with miitary veterans who go on to commit serious crimes lose their miitary funeral honors eligibility. Why should someone who committed treason get such honors?

Do they still pass out pamphlets at airports? Or did that stop after 9/11? I remember seeing them in the '80s and '90s, but since I moved up here, I haven’t seen any on the few times I’ve flown.

We have some Hari Krishna in downtown Hilo (not the airport) occasionally. They chant loudly, smile fanatically, and will engage in eerily polite conversation if accosted. But no literature as far as I know.
