When the plague is over in the MMP

VET means that Doggie is channeling Ruble again!!

Yeah now that you mention it **Cupcakes ** too. I think I saw Spidey elsewhere on the board. Cupcakes are you lost? We are here. I can see how someone would be frazzled with the new setup but I think she is computer savvy. I admit I still don’t know how to navigate easily.

Still gloomy here. It rained all night or at least every time I was awake. I just cooked and et sketties for lunch and since there are leftovers that will also be supper and since it’s nearly 3 pm it could be an early supper.

I have got into the habit of staying up half the night and sleeping half the day which is not a good habit for irk. Now it’s nap time.

Cupcakes was missing even before we made the switch.

I haven’t gotten a thing done today. Don’t feel like doing anything either,

I did forget to say that I hope your AC is behaving today MetalMouse.

It worked out really well. I packed the tots tightly on top, baked it at 400° for 20 minutes, then topped it with shredded sharp cheddar and gave it a few minutes in the oven to get melty. Quite yum! Of course, it really should have been in a much broader, shallower plan so there could be more tots! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m about start prepping sides for supper - cutting up green beans and onions and 'shrooms. And I think the starch will be crescent rolls. I’s hongree, but it’s still a tad early, alas. Maybe a peach will tide me over.

aunt is annoyed with me more than usual…when I watered the gardens last night somehow I forgot to turn off the water hose which has a miracle-gro sprayer on it …and about 20 minutes ago we heard a thunk and after checking around the house I walked outback and the “patio” was full of water and the hose had separated from the end piece…

so a new hose is needed yet again…

Walmart delivery has arrived, Instacart on the way. Walmart had some irritating out-of-stocks, but we need to go out tomorrow for the few of those the store I shopped via Instacart didn’t cover.

Total sloth day over here, meals will be via forage. Ample leftovers from the magic Internet Chinese food ordered last night (I did that on purpose), plus plenty of other stuff on hand.

FCM: I assume the tots were still frozen when you put it in the oven…

Bottle/can redemption centre is still closed. An amazing lot of bottles and cans (soda, water, and beer, but not cider or juice) have accumulated in the last four months. I hate to throw money away, but I might end up doing so in order to make room.

I kept to the shade and took a long walk this morning; however, that may have been a mistake, as my hands are swollen and stiff. I’m now doing the second load of laundry, so it must be International Laundry Day.

VOW, the patches sound great, but I don’t think I could get patches to stick to all my hand and foot joints. I do use an OTC topical lidocaine on them, but the Rx gel sounds way better. I don’t have a rheumatologist just now, but I’ll ask my GP next time I go in. Thanks much!

shady, if it’s any comfort, that sounds like something I would do. I’m sorry your aunt is angry. A garden hose isn’t that expensive, and in the general scheme of things, your mistake was a very small one.

nut, I’m glad you found a good final resting spot for the axolotl. I was living in a rental house when my very aged dog died, so burial was out of the question. I had her cremated and scattered her ashes in her favorite swimming spot.

Thel, don’t worry about griping on here. It’d get pretty dull if everyone was chipper all the time. I used to get panic attacks. Mine were from a trauma I refused to deal with, but I know how debilitating they can be. I’m sorry you’re having a rough time.

sunny, good to see you, and I’m glad your husband is feeling better. (I always want to call him Mr. Moon.)

Afternoon all. Napped for about 90 minutes and fiddled some more with the AC (it’s working–for now). Dishwasher is washing and bills have been mailed.

Thel, we Mumpers tend to live by a slogan from an old Science Fiction story “Shared pain is lessened; shared joy increased.” And while we’re not Callahan’s Place, we do OK, I think. Hang in there. (and you took joy from the animals in the fig tree and saving a bird)

Sounds like most folks are doing laundry, but I haven’t run out of anything yet, so I’ll see how far I can make it into next week…

shady, sounds like an ‘oops, need to visit Wal-Mart’ story…

Butters, looks like it may be drying out some in your locale. We could use some rain up here. May have to water the lawn to cause it to rain (sure-fire effect).

Nut, she probably appreciated the call…a little weird in life makes it worth living, IMHO.

Bumba, I bought a new mower a couple months ago, used mowers can be tricky. Good luck with the jungle.

Sunny, that is a cruise I want to take for my 70th birthday (2023). Hope you can re-schedule it, with or without the eclipse. And congrats on the crown.

red, I learned what dilled havarti is today (and what yahrzeit mean from Thel…the sum total of my knowledge has been increased, which makes it a good day.

Scans, I haven’t see the “Liberty Brew” Mountain Dew here in N. Ali-bama (of course, I haven’t been looking for it in particular) but I’ll take your advice and avoid it.

Cats, hope you get to see the comet.

Sari, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a tired Jack Russell…

Whew, I think I’m caught up with everyone, all y’all take care, stay cool, and get the laundry done!

I’m sorry you’ll miss the eclipse . Hope you’ll get to Antarctica I’m the future. It’s quite wonderful.

Yes, the tots were still frozen, but the rest of the dish was all cooked.

Tonight’s supper was good, and it’s a good thing SIL wasn’t here, since he wouldn’t have liked it. I made a beautifully rare London broil - he doesn’t do rare - whomp crescent rolls, and the green bean-onion-mushroom with soy sauce and oyster sauce. The dishwasher is sloshing away and I’m about to plant myself on the couch.

Just before making supper, I got the laundry off the lines, folded, and put away. I’m pretty sure that’s it for productivity today!

Sounds like you gave her a chance to do an act of kindness, a mitzvah.

You would do the same for her, I believe, if I’ve been paying the right attention to you.

Condolences on your amphibian friend loss-those all hurt.

Sorry in advance for the long wall of text. It has been quite a week.

Monday, Our family friend Willie has passed away. Lung cancer took him at 77. He had been part of our extended family for 55 years since he married my older sister’s best friend. He was a very colorful character who was sometimes on the shady side. He would do anything for a friend

Everyone has a Willie story, but my favorite happened when my sister and brother in law moved. We had a few pick up truck and were probably going to have to spend the day making multiple trips to get the job done. Willie showed up a little late with and enormous U-Haul truck. We were able to load everything in that truck and just make one trip. We unloaded at the new house, tapped the keg and ordered pizza.

I asked Willie where we needed to return the truck. He replied “Just leave the keys on the seat. They’ll find it…” I went down with a roll of paper towels and a bottle of Windex and hopefully got everyone’s fingerprints cleared up. A couple of days later, the truck was gone…
RIP Willie.

Thursday, as we were waiting for out of town family to arrive fro Willie’s funeral we heard a horrible racket. It sounded like a large group of people were pounding on the front of our house. A large branch of the Box Elder tree in our front yard had come down onto the roof. The base of this fallen branch was about 18" in diameter. My next door neighbor came over and between us we were able to get the branch down with no damage to the house, but out entire front yard was filled with this branch. We sawed it into smaller, more manageable pieces. Just as it got dark, our out of town company showed up.

Friday morning, I was up early and started up the chainsaw. I made some pretty good progress and got cleaned up, then we all went out to lunch. We did have a chance for a nice visit and then our daughters took their out of town cousins out to the clubs. Sunflower and i worked on the tree branches some and then settled in to relax some. We went to bed early.

Half an hour after we went to be we got a call from our younger daughter. Her best friend called in a panic. The friend’s dad had been docking his boat at the marina and had fallen between the boat and the dock. The river around that marina is really treacherous and it took rescuers over an hour to find him. They were able to get his heart started briefly but he was gone.

Today was Willie’s funeral.

Sorry to be a bother, but I just needed to get it all off my chest.

Thanks,

Longhair75, dear God, what a week you’ve had. Suggest you do follow God’s example and rest tomorrow.

So sorry about the loss of your friend–more like family, though. Sounds like he was a real pistol. Rest in peace.

Worked, napped, laundered Underoos. For all the new fangled smilies, we still don’t have gold lame thong smilie.

HAIL TO THE QUEEN! :crown: :crown: :crown:

It was VEET, but 2 anna half hours of OT does not suck. And I sent you a FB friend request, just so you know I’m not some random weirdo. I’m just a weirdo.

{{{{hippie}}}}, Williw sounded cool

Feel free to kvetch, Thel

Praise Jesus!

{{{hippy}}}

I opted out of taking Nelson to the dog park. He and his bestie tend to do a lot of mouth play and he’s still on antibiotics to make sure that he doesn’t get sick from what was churned loose during the cleaning. I ate leftover Chinese too, after ordering delivery last night.

Sis just called and she’s sending more masks and texted me some of the fabric that she was making them from.

Now to chill in front of the tube with a little dog in my lap.

Doggie, I have no FB friend request from you (or anyone else whose name I don’t recognize in real life). Are you sure you sent it to the right person? Someone else might be thinking you’re a random weirdo! If necessary, I’ll PM you my FB name.

Here’s the closest thing I can find to any kind of thong: :briefs:

And looky here – more amusement park things for my amusement! :ferris_wheel: :carousel_horse:

I’m very sorry for your loss. That’s a long relationship.
