When the plague is over in the MMP

I bet there will be questions about this. "Shall I stop eating alone at my desk at a safe social distance, or will there be a distanced/partitioned area in the breakroom where I can be uncomfortably alone in a crowd of people in their own personal fishbowls?

I like the rest of the memo. But these 2 bullets show a problematic thing that is happening everywhere… people are using COVID as an excuse to flex control over areas of cleanliness/sanitation that just bug them in general principle, as opposed to being COVID-related mandates by health professionals.

The dentist said crown to me again. They’re serious about it. Took a picture of the cracks in my tooth and everything. I told them I’ll move it up from the back burner to the front. Hoping I can put it off until January.

They tempted me when they told me that, if it’s easy enough to do the whole thing in-office, I can watch them 3-D print the crown. The 21st century is neat!

{storms something}

I guess the next step is a 3-d printer accessory that they stick in your mouth and it creates the crown in situ. But it’ll cost the same. Or more.

Howdy Y’all! Remember how I said sup would be steak? Well, as it turned out, sup was a trip to the good Mexican (OLÈ!) place. I had their chikin chimichanga. Soooooo good! OYKW wanted to go, so we did. I was even nice and was the designated driver so he could have a biiiiiiiiiiig margarita, which I knew was the real reason he wanted to go. He can’t fool me! I also recorded Prayers of The People for tomorrow night’s online Evening Prayer. It is uploadin’ as I post. Several of us take turns doin’ that along with scripture readin’s, so everyone does one or the other about once a month. We’re goin’ to start doin’ some recordin’s from the church in August just for a change.

MetalMouse I approve of your tp stash. One can never have too much, as you know.

And don’t ignore the wind. It can be a bigger danger than gravity. It can be stronger than you expect when you get a little ways off the ground.

boofae, Sis has some famous bands in her mask making, as well as Star Wars, cartoons, sports teams and Marvel/DC characters. Essentially, she’s making a practical fashion accessory.

Be careful up there Johnny!

Got my friend’s eye appointment out of the way today and he’ll be here tomorrow to take me to mine. The floors are mopped and I’m sweating bullets from the butter chickpeas I made for supper. This one may be up your alley dot. It’s vegan and takes ~5 minutes of prep work. If you’re OK with heat, I’ll give you the recipe.

Someone is staring at me with big brown eyes on the treat jar now, so duty calls. :stuck_out_tongue:

Who needs Fairychat? You have this figured out.

When shingling my steep roofed barn, I had a 100 lb test clothes line running from peak to peak, and a loop of the same line around my waist. I began sliding down the roof, and cursed. I wasn’t able to stop. I wondered what kind of safety factor clothes line had. I weighed 115 lbs. I looked up and said, “I didn’t mean it”, and slid off the edge and dangled for a bit, contemplating safety factors, my climbing ability and wondered if G-d existed what kind of a sense of humor s/he had.

Play station? No added wads? The M16 WAD changed the chain gun into an M-16 and gave more hit to the rocket launcher. I want to get two PCs running DOS and network them. Mrs, Plant (v.2.0) and I played Doom by phone from Little Rock, AR and Nashua, NH while courting. It was necessary to stand directly behind her, for she pulled the trigger and then aimed.

Yeah.
I watched, it was cool, there were jagged edges on the crown near my gum line. I can’t tell it they wore away, or if I’ve just gotten used to them

Evening all. Managed to get out for a walk this evening, watched the ‘club’ soccer teams practice and talked to a couple of old friends. Then spoiled it by getting a big burger and fries at Hardee’s (no self-control at all). Also got a head of lettuce this time (double-checked) at Publix. Now inside and internettin’ for the duration.

talker, I am with you, the library being closed and B&N a fair trip away, it’s like some old friends who you don’t get to see all that much anymore…

Sari, can’t Sah-son help on that list, or does he have his own ‘to-dos’?

flyboy, that’s a nice memo, but if I had had to keep my desk neat and clean…

Cats, ain’t science wunnderful. Happy crowning day.

My thanks for your approval, swampy; now need to load up on Kleenex…during my stop at the Publix, noted that the TP aisle was about 50% picked over.

OK, back to internettin’. All y’all take care.

I got a few things done in the studio to prep for the next project and the raging allergies are beginning to simmer down. Maybe the extra doses of benedryl are doing their thing.

I could never get the WADs to work for my PC copy.

Talkative bunch, you lot. I’ll need to catch up later.

I mostly continue to sort and organize things from my office that are crammed in the living room. It’s a slow process. I also declared today “eat vegetables from the fridge day” since the next CSA box arrives tomorrow. My breakfast included a saute of sauerkraut, tomatoes, broccoli, mushrooms, and scallions, with an egg on toast, nuts, and blueberries. Lunch was nuts, blueberries, and two jewel muffins. Dinner was fried green tomatoes, a salad of tomatoes, fresh-pickled cucumbers, two kinds of radish, and kohlrabi, beets and little potatoes, and a stir-fry of garbanzos and garlic.

Made progress on rearranging my home office, including getting rid of some paper and putting other paper in a binder.

Of course, now that the desk is in its new space, I have another cable to drop through the gap, which has a big thing on both ends. Shouldn’t be allowed. All cables should have at least one end which can fit in small spaces.

Have to go to the store today and I’m lacking in imagination. Have to take a stroll through the recipe books to figure out what I want to cook. Today’s lunch is leftovers. Tomorrow’s might be as well, but (whispered) we’re almost out of milk.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and fair (as opposed to middlin’?) with a predicted high of 94 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is the layin’ in of provisions. I shall procure from Sam’s, whilst OYKW procures from the Pubic Sto’. Tonight’s sup will be the steak we did not have yestiddy as they must be cooked. There may be some quality cee-mint pond time this afternoon.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, alack, woe and bother, I suppose I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. This will be two days in a row. It’s almost more than my retired grumpy old man self can take!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Happy Hump Day!

Even though I woke early, I decided to skip the park this morning and just go straight to daycare. Before covid, they opened at 6, now I have to wait until 7.

Sah-son will actually be doing most of the chores MetalMouse. At least everything that involves lifting and carrying, moving furniture, and washing the truck.
He doesn’t know it yet though.
I have a feeling that after I rearrange the furniture I’m not going to like it and will want to move everything back. Fortunately, we don’t have a lot of furniture and none of it is very heavy. He can move most of it by himself.

I heard what I thought was a kid screaming outside. It was Antlers defending her food from another cat. I tapped on the window, they both turned to look at me, then the other cat ran away. Pretty cat, but looks scrawny, probably another stray.
I was afraid when I moved the bowl to the front porch I’d be attracting every cat in the neighborhood.

Good morning, y’all.

Big day: Taking my dog Sweetie to the vet at 8 am for the second of three lime-sulfur (anti-fungal) baths. Try not to be jealous. It’s before breakfast so I won’t describe the stuff on her skin that necessitates the dip. It leaves her with an interesting odor. Not awful. Sort of Eau de High School Chemistry Lab.

Before I take her, I’ll walk at 6:30 just before dawn, while it’s still a frosty 76 degrees (87% humidity). Brrr!

I like reading about all the cool, useful, productive things people are up to. Makes me want to take a nap. Still waiting to hear something that inspires me to do likewise. :slightly_smiling_face:

My usual morning of waking stupid early and messing about with my tablet before dragging my carcass to the shower… followed by tending to the critters, making my breakfast, then feeding Roxy (corn chex with blueberries) and getting FCD off to work. Today, he’s going on base to climb into an airplane for this project he’s working.

Daughter is going to her school - they’re trying to figure out how they can keep the kids separated safely, assuming they get enough enrolled to operate this year. It’s a small private school that needs at least 35 kids to break even - right now they’re at 26…

SIL has training in Annapolis, so I’ve got Roxy to myself most of the day. It should be exhausting. I miss taking her to story time. Maybe we’ll go to the playground. Anything to avoid some of the gawd-awful kids shows she likes to watch! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Onward! Happy Wednesday!!
