face (facial cleanser not shower gel nor with washcloth)
I have a little foot thingie that clings to the floor of the bathtub that I use while I’m doing the rest of it. You just squirt the shower gel into that and scrub first one foot & then the other. It’s almost better than sex!
And if I’m shaving my legs I do that after conditioner application but before washing.
add conditioner and try to keep hair out of the aim of the shower head
use soap or body wash to wash right arm, the right arm
torso starting with chest and ending with butt
Left leg then right leg
put either apricot scrub or oil free acne cleaner on face(never soap!)
Use nail brush on finger nails, the thoughly scrub backs of hands and fingers with the larger side of the brush (only in the winter) after soaping it up
Rinse off conditioner and face cleaner.
On leg shaving days that’s number 3, and everything else is bumped down one.

P.S. Does this remind anyone else of “Father Knows Best?”
I used to do that, when I lived in the dorm (communal bathrooms, huzzah! ). It’s more convenient that way.
Oddly, while I had no qualms about spitting toothpaste foam in a shower that other people are going to use, I never do it anymore now that I have my own bathroom…
Wash face – apricot scrub or foaming facial cleanser, both with my hands
Wash body, using shower scrubby thing, in this order:
Chest
Armpits
Arms
Tummy
Back & Neck
Naughty Bits
Rinse body parts that didn’t get rinsed while washing other body parts
Shave armpits, every couple of days (in winter, anyway)
Shave legs, every few months (or if I’m going to wear a skirt)
Get out, dry off, try to remember to spray shower with daily cleaner so I don’t every have to scrub.
I brush my teeth and do all the rest of it after my shower – I feel much more awake and able to deal with sticking little bits of plastic in my eyes once I’m clean.
I’m suppoed to wash my hair??!!??
All kidding aside. I have no order. Sometimes I shave my face, then hair, then body. Other times I wash body, shave, then hair.
I also might note I use the same soap for everything. I don’t buy saving cream/gel or shampoo. I just use a liquid type soap for everything. Perhaps that’s why I have no order.
I brush my teeth before I get in the shower. I like to feel clean all over when I get out. But I won’t brush my teeth in the shower…what if I drop the toothbrush and it gets all soapy and cruddy from body runoff?
ANYWAY
I wash my hair first
Massage in conditioner to let it sit
Wash my face
Wash my body from neck to toes…I use a scrubby washcloth for everything but boobs, hoohah, and buttcrack
Rinse out conditioner.
If it’s a shaving day, then I shave (I shave last to get the hair soft and the skin exfoliated): the order is armpits, then I put shaving gel on my left leg then shave my left upper leg, then left lower; then put shaving gel on my right leg and shave the upper leg then lower, then I shave my hoohah hair.
Then wash my ear cartilage piercing with special soap.
Finally I squeeze the water out of my hair, turn off the shower and dry off.
and I won’t get into my drying off routine, 'cause the showering routine was bad enough for you guys to read, if you chose to read it, that is
Wash face with washcloth
Wash hair
Condition
Shave pits and legs
rinse out conditioner
use foo foo ball start with arms
chest
legs
feet
naughty parts
dry off hair, put in hair clip
Call hubby to bring baby up to she can have her bath
But hubby does his hair last, if you’re hair is dirty, and you wash it last, you’re getting dirt all over your clean body.
He used to use bar soap and his hands to wash body, but hes started using the foo foo ball I bought him.
Not only don’t I have a routine in the shower, I don’t even pay attention to what I’m doing. My shower time is used for deep thoughts, planning my future, writing stories, composing songs, and debating things I’ve recently read on the SDMB.
This means that my left arm invariably gets the most attention, because it’s easiest. I’m sure that sometimes it gets washed 10 or 12 times over the course of a shower. At some point I’ll remember to do my hair. Unfortunately, once it’s rinsed off, I’ll have zero memory of whether I washed it or not, so I’ll frequently wash it again. For a while I tried turning the shampoo bottle upside down after I used it to keep track, but then I could never remember if I’d actually turned the bottle over or not.
I always do my pits/naughty bits just before I turn off the water, in case I missed them earlier.
