When you take a shower...

Shave first:

Start shower, hop in.

Get wet, add shampoo to hair, wash face- soap up the highlights on the body.

Rinse the whole thing.

Get out.

Yep, that why i use the extra slippery soap!

I. too, brush the toofers in the shower. Weird, I’ll admit, but weirdly efficient–for me, anyway. Saves cleaning the dribble out of the sink, for starters. BTW, I also shave in the shower: the hot water makes it less of a fight with my wire-bristle beard. I started wearing a goatee (reluctantly giving in to fashion and female hints), and am constantly amazed I don’t hack it lopsided every Monday morning. Keep meaning to buy a shower mirror, but to paraphrase an earlier poster, I guess I know where my face is.

As to the OP, I’m in G with the majority. Wash hair, then condition, then the rest, in a general top-down fashion. Not as strict as some on the order, and have been known to forget a step when really tired. Still have flashbacks to the time I forgot to rinse the conditioner and didn’t notice until half dressed. Ew!

Face and hair in any order I feel like - I really double up on the soap for my face and its adolescent patina of oil. Then I move down and rinse. Easy. If I need to, I shave. If I need another pass, then I do it.

Hair first
Then put on conditioner and let it get a deep treatment while I wash down the rest of me. ;j

Body first, then hair.

Rick

shampoo hair

pile hair on top of head

lather body, starting with arms and working down, cleaning everything but the naughty bits

Rinse hair and body at same time

Apply conditioner

Shave any necessary areas

Naughty bits

Rinse conditioner (and body one more time)
Get out of shower to wash face and brush teeth at sink.

You guys all have a routine???

I just grab either soap or shampoo and go.

Hmmmm…clearly I am gonna have to work out a routine. This hap hazard approach will not do.

  1. trunk and arms
  2. head
  3. hair (Pert - shampoo and conditioner in one!)
  4. legs
  5. feet and toes
  6. naughty bits

Male, just for the record.

I’m with you, Brynda, I don’t give a damn what goes first! Actually, I like to mix it up a little…I’ll go into the shower in the morning and think, “what should go first today…hair, face, or body?” I don’t even wash my body in the same order. Sometimes it’s arms first, sometimes trunk first…my legs are always after my arms and trunk though, and my back is always last…so it’s kinda structured, but not completly. I’m just too spontaneous and afraid of ruts that I refuse to do it the same way every time.
(And then there was the time my GF and I took a shower together…now THAT’S variety…variety that I hope to do more of  )

I shampoo every day, since I have short hair, and I want to make sure I’m getting any pesticide residue from the day before.

So I shampoo first, then grab the soap, start at the face and work my way down.

BTW, I brush my teeth in the sink before I take my shower (morning mouth, BLEAUGH!) and I shave at the sink after my shower, but before drying off. My beard is softened by the soap and hot water, and for some reason I can’t shave without a mirror.

Hehe I am very careful about never using the ass-crack/groin/armpit side of the soap on my face . I always put it face side up when I’m done. When It gets to about 3/16 of an inch thick the bar is just to dangerous to use on the face at all so I open a new bar for the face and use the onld on on the other parts until its gone.

As for the O.P.
1 Shampoo hair
2 Shampoo beard
3 rinse both
4 re-shampoo hair, use shampoo runoffs to clean non sweaty parts of body like chest, thighs, back.
5 Condionion hair and beard
6. use soap on ass-crack, groin, armpits, kneepits and feet.
7 flip soap, wash non-beard parts of face.
8 rinse face.
9 rinse conditioner out of hair.
10 rinse all remaining soap.

Wash:

Hair first, so conditioner can sit
Face, before the wash cloth touches anything else
Naughty bits last, for obvious reasons

Rinse: Top down

body then hair.

Female here. Hair then body.

I am also a shower tooth-brusher. I do that before the hair.

Finally another shower tooth-brusher! I was beginning to feel unique, and not in a good way. Also, I’m a little surprised not to hear of more men who shave in the shower. I read once, long ago, in one of those advice-you-wish-you’d gotten-from-your-father books, that shaving in the shower is best for close shaves, what with all the hot water and steam. On top of that, it’s less clean-up. But still the consensus seems to be to shave in front of the bathroom mirror. Hmm. Unique or not, think I’ll stick with my one-stop-hygiene shower.

1.) face
2.) shampoo hair; rinse
3.) soap up washcloth with either soap or shampoo
4.) left arm and chest
5.) right arm and back
6.) backside and legs
7.) feet OR amusing bits
8.) the other
9.) optional body rinse
10.) condition hair
11.) hair & body rinse
12.) underarm and leg shave, if it is shaving day
13.) final rinse

I always have a deep internal conflict over whether to do my feet or fun bits first; both seem dirty in different ways so I don’t want to contaminate either with the other’s dirt!

If I forget to wash my face until I’ve washed other things, I just don’t use the washcloth to wash the face; I splash water on it and lather the face-soap/makeup remover on it with my hands and splash to rinse.

Used to wash hair in sink when a child, but don’t anymore. But always wash my face at non-shower times over the bathtub rather than the sink–I splash way too much and don’t want to towel down the whole counter!

Was going to refuse to modify my routine based on this thread, but now I think conditioning while washing instead of after might be a good idea. But then “bacne” becomes a problem, as mentioned…don’t like the idea of getting a nice scrunchie all conditionery and sticky! Though I could rinse it later I guess…hmmmm…

Male here.

My MO…

-Hair
-Face

I’ve never brushed my tooths in the shower before. I’ll have to try it tomorrow morning and see how it works!

I like my electric razor too much to shave in the shower. Besides, we had to almost take apart the shower because of a massive hair clog. I wouldn’t want to make that even worse.

Brushing your teeth in the shower is great!

The hot water seems to make the toothpaste foam better, so your mouth feels extra clean after you’ve rinsed. Plus there’s the opportunity to drool like an idiot and let the foam run down your body. Fun!

But avoid letting toothpaste foam run into your, umm, naughty bits (to use the patois of this tread :)). It… tingles.
