Looking over recent threads, I noticed the following:

Now, I’m not saying any of these threads is wrongheaded in any way. Sometimes you gotta vent, and what better place than the Pit, right? And yes, I realize that the above are not unusual for this board - I’m not saying people are suddenly become meaner and nastier.
Having said that (and hopefully having covered my ass a little!), I’ll propose this question: Are there any nice people out there? People who don’t have a major or minor beef with anyone? People who are just generally nice to be around (or, in the case of the SDMB, people whose posts are pleasant to read)?
[Looks like I’ve used ‘nice’ a bit too frequently here, haven’t I? Well, in some regards it’s the polar opposite of ‘fucking’ - unless, of course, it’s ‘fucking nice’!]
So, let’s see some nominees! Who among your fellow Dopers would you nominate for being just an all-around Good Guy or Good Girl?
He’s just a good guy. He starts threads that are for amusement and congratulating others. He tends to get down on himself on occasion, but still doesn’t get down on others. Most everyone I know of likes him. Yes, of course I’m speaking of MPSIMS’s own Eutychus55. Mod and all around good guy.
I love the little spiders at the bottom of hrt posts. Normally they’re smiley spiders, but once I saw one where the spider was shocked and had two little spider legs up against its cheeks like this:

And I just thought it was one of the cutest things I’d ever seen. So my vote goes towards Spider Woman too.
If they dropped the pit entirely, I think it would improve the tone of GD as well. Even GQ is getting surly. I can’t imagine how the pit is supposed to “help”, but I’m positive it doesn’t.
I also think there’s oodles of people here who are kind and considerate. TruePisces, Falcon, tiggeril, vidad colek, Euty, you dan, everyone else previously mentioned, etc etc. Why this place is crawling with niceness!
Hmmmmm. A thread that will compile a list of nice people…
Just the sort of thing I am looking for. A list of people who can be turned to the dark side. Who can have their life-affirming vestiges of goodness snuffed out by the dark oppressive forces of angst, bitterness, political outrage, and customer service complaints. My fiendish circle of thugs, sneak-theives, hooligans, and tax evaders will grow ever wider as we feast upon the innocent! Mwu-ha-ha-ha-ha!
She’s on my nice list…at least she only massacres people who gratuitously piss her off.
Others on my “nice” list include Zyada, evilbeth, Chronos (ever-polite Fount of Physics Wisdom that he is), Zenster (who thinks he has no enemies because no one remembers him), Aglarond (what are a few goats among friends?), JimB, Grace, several posters who’ve already been listed, and Bottle of Smoke (just to tick him off).
There are too many nice people here for even me to try to list in a single post, so there are quite a few I’ve left off the list. Of course, I stay out of the Pit myself, and I generally steer clear of GD as well, so my view may be skewed.
Aside from agreeing whole heartedly with Falcon about you, dan (I’ve talked to you on the phone. I know! And she’s met you IRL, so she knows! Just try to argue with us! It won’t get you far! ), I also want to say TroubleAgain for the girls side and Verrain for the guys.
I don’t ever remember anything negative coming from TA. And she’s willing to lend a shoulder, ear, hand - whatever - when needed. At least, she has to me.
And Verrain – well, he’s been the main bumper for the Pick-Me-Up thread over in MPSIMS, making sure that any one is down remembers that it’s there and has a warm welcome waiting for them when they stop by.
So those are my two nominations.
(Oh, and Tequila? blush Thanks. I don’t always feel like a nice person, but I do try my best to keep those things off the board.)
I’m mean and ornery! I leave the seat up! I call people after 9 pm during the week! I… uh… don’t write thank-you notes! In fact, when I go to a party, I drink all the beer, eat all the food, and then take all the women for myself!
On the train I won’t give up my seat for the handicapped or the elderly. Let 'em get their own! I cut off other drivers, and when I park, I park diagonally across two parking spots!
I am pure evil, born of dank despair, raised on bile and venom, and now towering above all that’s also icky…
