Where are you going on your next vacation?

For me, it’s a trip to Italy with my mom and my sister. We’re spending a few days in Florence and a few in Venice. This will be my first major vacation in almost two years - I had a mini-vacation (less than a week) with the SO in New Orleans over Thanksgiving, and a few weekends away here and there, but nothing major.

I’ve been to Florence before, on my first trip to Europe back in 1990. It was wonderful and I can’t wait to go back. This will be my first visit to Venice.

I was hoping to make it to Australia soon, but finances just won’t allow it right now. I will get there eventually, though.

So where are you going for your next vacation?

I am looking forward to 3 days in Flagler Beach Florida and then a week in the Florida Keys. I lived in Lake Worth years ago but never visited the Keys. I can’t wait.

Maybe Buffalo with the 'rents and two of the brothers at the end of July - no guarantees on that though, as it depends on summer classes and such.
Or…maybe Memphis with mom if my spring break coincides with hers…I think mine’s about three weeks earlier though.

Ireland for 2 weeks in March.

Probably Chicago for ChiDope.

I am flying to Sun and Fun in April in Lakeland, FL, with a bunch of friends from school. We are going to take 2 or 3 airplanes down there, and work as volunteers so we get our camping for free.

Well, I was going to say I didn’t know, but I just found a great student fare to Amsterdam. Hmmm…

This is shaping up to be a stellar vacation year for Casa de Hook.

Next month we are going to spend a week driving the California/Oregon coast. If all goes well I’m going to Vietnam in July. Then it’s San Diego in August and Italy in late September/early October. And we might be heading back East around Thanksgiving.

Several factors pending…

Dublin is definitely another go after last week (thanks everyone).
We also want to go back to the States to see mimmam.

Y’see, I have a bit of wanderlust. Being in the UK helps in that everywhere I want to go is very close. So there are myriad places I want to visit, but the above two will be this year at least.

In two and a half weeks wife and I will fly to Orlando and head on over to Port Canaveral for a 4 day cruise - without the kids! It’s a big deal for us to do so. We were trying for Vegas on our anniversary last October but it didn’t work out. We went on a cruise 4 years ago, this looks to be a good time!

Of course, we’ll spend most of the time wondering what the kids are up to. And if the baby sitters are sleeping OK!

During my spring break in April, I’m visiting London and Paris. I’m so excited! I’ve never been out of the U.S. before. Can’t wait!

St. Thomas in February, courtesy of the United States Navy.

Cambodia in August( hopefully) courtesy of my wallet. Yes, I know this is semi-crazy.

SandyHook : Make sure you visit La Jolla and Cabrillo National Monument while you’re in San Diego. Go to Cabrillo during the day at low tide to sea the tide pools. Then in late afternoon visit La Jolla cove, and get dinner nearby after sunset over the Pacific.

God I miss that town.

Myrtle Beach Bike Week, May 14th thru the 18th…any Dopers in the area, look me up…I’ll be the tattoed guy on the Harley with the bad attitude.

My wife and I haven’t decided yet. It is either the Oregon coast or Las Vegas. Depends how much our tax return is.

Cape May, New Jersey, the first week of August – the usual place, the usual time, the usual suspects. I can’t wait!

(I’m also taking Monday the third off, since I have an appt. midday to get three, count 'em, three cavities filled. That I’m not looking forward to quite as much.)

Two weeks in Barbados, where it is sunny and 85 every day never higher and never lower. Two weeks from today and not a moment too soon.

Mardi Gras. We’re leaving after work on Thursday, February 27th and heading home Ash Wednesday, March 5th.

Look for me each night between 6:00 and 6:05 PM CST on the BourboCam. I’ll be holding a sign that says… something.

Fixed link.

Glen Arbor, MI- End of June. Been going there since I was 5 (28 years)…beautiful place.

Supposed to go see relatives in Frankfurt, but just found out I’m expecting, so we are not going to fly this year.

Steamboat Springs, CO for 2 weeks and I can hardly wait.
