Wyoming in July. Mountains, high plains, Devil’s Tower and with luck the stars!
In October- to Scotland, Ireland and France. Of course London as well.
I’m already here - southern Germany. I hope to be going home some time soon.
I’m very jealous of all of you that travel. I have always wanted to but could never afford it. I take virtual trips online a lot. I also like to take day trips in my car to the mountains and the beaches.
I just got back from LA at the end of last month for a work trip. We are going to Tennessee in May (well, hopefully, but I did put in for the vacation time). That trip is simply for fun. We are also going to Minneapolis in July for my wife’s residency for this degree. So far, that’s it.

I might be going to Paris for a weekend. That’s about the height of it.
Going to Florida for April school vacation. My in-laws have a time share at a Marriott resort in Palm Beach. Last fall when we decided to go, I anticipated enjoying some warmth and sunshine after a long, Maine winter. But this year, spring arrived early – we haven’t had any snow since the beginning of February, and it hit 80 degrees on Easter! So, no cabin fever this year, but it will still be nice to get away from the grind and spend some days on the beach with a trashy book, my iPod, and an icy adult beverage.
Camping in July and hopefully some other summer weekends if I can work it around my job, and California (Yosemite, Napa, Medocino, San Francisco) in October.
Some of you have some awesome trips planned!
We’re going to New York City on May 3rd. On our honeymoon. Frankly, I can’t think of anything less romantic than a dingy, grimy, cold megalopolis*, but Really Not All That Bride likes it, and I know where my bread is buttered.
*Yes, dingy and grimy. Your city is filthy, New Yorkers! Even the nice parts of Manhattan. 'Course, I’ve been to most of the other world cities of that size and they’re generally dirty too.
The next big trip will be to London, in July, to sing at the opening night of the Proms.
In June I hop a train to Chicago — never been there except to change planes.
My first trip that’s a) by myself, and b) not work-related in close to 30 years. I haven’t yet decided whether I’m excited or out of my mind.
San Francisco, kinda. Kinda because I arrived there five hours ago. I’ll be here until Tuesday.
Oh, woe be to he who thinks he knows where he’s going.
I have no clue, but I plan to enjoy it.
Going to London in a month (4 days), to Ljubljana a week later (similar duration), to Porto in June (work related) and to Montreal, New Brunswick, New England and New York in August. that’s all for now…
Dallas in June, then Philly, then NYC, all in the space of a couple weeks, mostly to see friends.
Then off to England to see some more friends.
Then to Belfast to spend the rest of the summer with boyfriend’s family.
Definitely looking forward to a vacation. June cannot come quick enough.
If all goes to plan (in terms of getting leave approved and barring any revolutions), in August we’ll be taking a month or two to do what we can of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan (after finishing up the 6-months we’re currently doing in Kazakhstan)
Gosh, my travel plans are so tame by comparison with this crowd. Anyhow, I’m going to Dublin in July for a conference. I’ve never been to Ireland, so I’m quite pleased. I plan to go a bit early and stay a bit late, so I can see some of the sights.
I’m leaving for Tunisia on Thursday. I’m looking forward to 10 days of sun and adventures.
Casablanca!
Then around Morocco and then to the very southern edge of Spain.
I am reading this thread as I’m sitting in the JFK airport waiting to go home after 2 weeks in Peru. I can’t wait to ride my bike and see my kitty cat.
