It’s on Wednesday again?
:::grumbles:::
Stupid birthday!
Recap/Clip show tonight folks…
Probst was on the Bob and Tom show this morning and confirmed that there would be some new footage. Real exciting stuff like
Colby scratching his privates and complaining about a rash.
I hate recap shows, so I’ll catch you folks next week.
Isn’t this week a recap show? Is it tonight or back to Thursdays?

Oh, thank god! (I knew that having a life wouldn’t have to get in the way of my Survivor.
Since it’s a recap episode, I’ll take this opportunity to chastise the males on this Survivor, and how any of them have zero chance of winning.
It has been a trend this year for the males to battle for the alpha-male position in the tribes. Nearly everyone has engaged in it, except for maybe Big Tom (is it possible for him to have the superior strategy amongst the Y chromosomes?!?). And all it does is whittle away the men, one by one. I was absolutely suprised to see Lex engage in it, especially after their Big Three alliance in Africa (or was it four?) guaranteed one of them the $1 million.
The ONLY male who is playing alpha-male and has a decent chance is Boston Rob (has the world come to this?). He’s garnered the favor of the women in the tribe. But let’s face it - he’s being played.
I hate to say it, but Kathy, Jerry and Shi-Ann are going to be the Final Three. Jerry’ll win the endurance contest they always set up, she’ll pick Shi-Ann to move to the final round because Kathy is a guaranteed win, and Shi-Ann wins. My least favorite survivor player of all time.
Note: all of the above is pure speculation, and should not be treated in any way as a spoiler.
It’s a recap show? Didn’t the previews show them getting new buffs?
No Big Tom or Rupert? Were they hit by astroids? How did the tribe down 2 players dominate the final 4? To me, your final three looks to be off by two players. At best Kathy is the only one with a shot- even with the Burnett cheesy trick to the contrary- the tribes are well alligned at this point.
Seeing we are a week or two from a Merge, even a tribe mixing should not change things too much.
My final four: Big Tom, Rupert, Kathy and Boston Rob’s sweetheart (WAG: he gets screwed on the merge maybe?)
sigh Stupid recap show. Now I have nothing to do tonight.
Not asteroids, just the idiot stick. These are the two stupidest survivor players to ever grace a jury bench. Boston Rob will make quick work of Rupert. BR’s harem will make quick work of Rob once Rupert’s gone, and then feast on Big Tom. That puts Jerry-Kathy-ShiiAnn in charge of the rest.
I thought so. There was a commercial showing Amber saying she got screwed. Also another commercial showing BR snuggling with Jenna and Amber.
Yes, but they also show Colby running down the beach. He was voted off.
According to cbs.com: “Don’t miss highlights and never-before-seen footage!”
Bleh. Is anything else on tonight?
So are we back to Thursday next week, or will it be Wednesday again?
After last week’s show they had a preview for the next show, post-Ethan. I guess they decided they weren’t getting the ratings running against the American Idol results show so they’ve thrown in a recap episode instead. Seems a little short-sighted seeing as it means they’ll have to run a normal episode against the Friends finale now.
Yeah, last week they definitely showed previews that implied a new show and a tribal mix-up. I was looking forward to that.
I hate the recap show; it’s never anything new.
Actually, IIRC, the shift of Survivor to Wednesday night is accommodating the NCAA playoffs. It should return to Thursday next week.
If there’s one thing CBS has never been shy about, it’s competing with Friends. Hell, I know which show I’ll be watching – Friends I can catch in syndication at practically any time.
BTW, the only time a Survivor recap show shows anything of any value whatsoever is when they show the comments people make during voting. It was during “Survivor: The Australian Outback” that we got to see Colby vote off Kel Gleason, and utter these comments:
“Thanks for playing. We’ve got some lovely parting gifts for you.”
And on Wednesday, it runs against at least part of the American Idol results show, or at least it did last week, and by all accounts Idol did better in the ratings. My post wasn’t about why it was moved, just what happened when it was.
Yeah, but CBS doesn’t really have a choice. They have to run Survivor on one night in the week, and in order to keep viewer confusion at a minimum, it really should be a bordering day. (Wednesday or Friday.) Since Friday is typically the Kiss of Death Day for television, Wednesday was the only viable solution.
Besides, the shift to Wednesday was only temporary. It sucks that it got beaten by “American I-duh,” but the options are seriously limited. CBS knows that NCAA basketball brings in eleventy billion more dollars in advertising ducats than Survivor ever will.
Gah! I know why CBS moved it to Wednesday and that it’s only during March Madness. I’m not saying that they should have shown it on another day either. Og knows what happened to Seinfeld when they kept moving it around the schedules back in the UK. I’m just saying that, after not beating Idol last week, they realised they were probably better off showing a recap rather than a new episode as they were probably not going to do so well in the ratings again this week, and obviously next week it’ll be back in it’s regular slot.
