Where the hell are my tragic, bulgy eyed rabbits?

I got hooked on Matt Groening’s work in the very early eighties reading Life in Hell in the San Diego Reader When I moved back to Tucson I was treated to the strip in the Tucson Weekly a full two weeks before it appaeard in the Village Voice along with funk-queen Lynda Barry’s Ernie Pook’s Comeek. Now in the desolation of Phoenix the New Times only features Max Cannon’s Red Meat in every issue and Derf’s The City on a somewhat less regular basis. Both excelellent strips BTW, not knocking Bug Eyed Earl or Derf’s jabs at he-boobies. So… where the hell can I get my Life in Hell? Of all those strips it’s the only one I have never been able to find online.

I don’t know if he’s doing it anymore; I haven’t seen an alternative paper in years.

I can only suggest getting the books, if they’re still in print. I still read 'em and they’re still funny and worth having.

I think he ended it about 4-5 years ago. The Washington City Paper, where I get my weekly fix of Cecil, used to also carry Life in Hell. I miss it, too. :frowning:

I’ve seen it much more recently than that, but can’t say that it hasn’t ended.

I haven’t seen it in a while, but I think Groening wasn’t paying much attention to it anymore. It had gotten where every week was 16-25 identical panels with a punchline at the end.
