Where Was This Picture Taken?

Cheating on this one.
City of Bath, Somerset, England.

48 is Pulteney Bridge in Bath.

Edit: beaten to it as I tried to figure out 47! Best guess for 47 is the French or Italian riviera, but it sould equally be a pastiche somewhere else.

One more from me:

Giles, I love this photograph!

Plaza de Espana, Seville?

  1. This one will be easy for all you world travelers

Yep (and by 'eck it was hot the day I took that photo!). Those are specifically the “province alcoves” decorated with tiles representing each province of Spain.

Edit: no 50 would be Ellis Island. I’ve never been but seen pics.

Judging by the spires, I guessed somewhere in Turkey, but haven’t managed to track the spot down in the major cities so it may be somewhere obscure or in a neighbouring country.

GIS with “red roofs minarets” indicates Sarajevo.

  1. Scenic beauty!

A little tougher, I hope.

Good detective work! I was considering posting a pic of this building as a further clue.

When I was there I stayed in the yellow house here. The bridge is the Latin Bridge where Archduke Ferdinand was shot, leading to the First World War. Cool place with a lot of history in a small city!

It would be if you hadn’t posted the same pic in another SDMB thread a while back.

Cumberland Falls, KY

52: seaside

(Just had to check there weren’t any giveaway flags!)

and 53: more seaside.

The somewhat notorious Port Arthur, in Tasmania.

Oh grrr. You and your good memory.

Kampong Ayer, Brunei?

This looks like Charleston, S.C., to me.

It’s spelled ‘Kampung Air’ but yup

Argh! I couldn’t remember how to spell it so googled it, and it came up with Wikipedia using that spelling

Okay, here’s one I unlabeled:

  1. Somewhere on Earth
