I miss her
Arnold posted a while back that she was having ISP problems. I don’t think she’s beeen around since then.
Pity she was one of my favorite posters. A very classy smart ass(in the good way).

How’s this dollar bill magic trick done?

I’m sure Duck is still posting, but under another name.
That won’t be the first time she (formerly he) did so, after all, with a personality change to go with it.
Just a guess.
In fact, I have my eye on Duck Hook, who seems to have been supportinve in Notthemama’s threads and has the signature with a familiar pattern
Weanie Weedie Beachie
To clear up any possible misconceptions: Notthemama asked the administrators of the board to change her username, so she went about it in the approved way.
I personally didn’t notice a behavioural change. Many posters recognized her under her new name fairly quickly.
I’ve read several posts by Duck Hook and IMHO it’s not DDG returned.
I wish people wouldn’t change their user names. I’m all for folks who got off on the wrong foot getting a second chance, but unless there’s a good reason, I don’t like it. (“Well, who asked you?”)
I guess I don’t like having to get to know someone all over again.
Part of the richness of the SDMB experience is feeling like you really get to know the posters. When they change names (and don’t announce it), something’s lost.
I think Notthemama had too much baggage, and wanted to stop being the gunfighter everyone wants to call out to duel, or drag into a slug fest to help out.
Duck Duck Goose never did the “Upside the Head with a Brick”, and was probably a lot happier for it.
i thought this was going to be about the game! I don’t know the posters you guys are talking about, but the game was always fun…
I understand Notthemama making the first name change, to DDG, but why the second change?
I guess it’s not very important in the (cliche alert) big scheme of things, but what if everyone did it? We’d have to get to know each other all over again.
Ah well, don’t mind me. I’m just bored today. I wanted to go shopping, but the weather’s supposed to get icky and I’m stuck at home with the dishes and the laundry and the cat box.

Don’t try to play Columbo.
As we’ve said repeatedly over the past few weeks, we don’t want people trying to publicly “out” sockpuppets. If you have your suspicions feel free to email a mod, but don’t try to show off your detective skills in public.
It’s very easy to be completely wrong.

The game is at this thread. There’s several variations mentioned.
Go there and boost it if you want to reminisce or comment.
NTM/DDG used Juno as an ISP, and Juno decided to quit offering free phone numbers in DDG’s area. So…she’s quit using the internet.
A few times along the way, it has been indicated that I am actually DDG.
This is totally not true, but I am flattered that anyone thought so. I have a great deal of respect for the lady, and there are very few people I would be as honored to be mistaken for.
Scotti
Just for what it’s worth, I’ve missed ntm/ddg too. He, (excuse me …she) added a lot to the board. I didn’t always agree with her views, but they were always on-target and gave you a reason to reflect on your own viewpoint.
So wherever you are Duck, I wish you well and hope to cross paths with you again.
For the record, Silent Bob is doing well, but is unable to post to the board at this time.
He sends and and
And silent_rob? The last one above not heard from.
Here’s your duck question, Mr. scratch, but where is he?
Perhaps there is no time like the present, and no present like diamonds. I recall my first ballgame, the roar of the popcorn, the smell of the crowd.
