Where's my password gone? Internet connection question.

This is a little problem, but it’s really annoying me.

I’m running Windows 95, with IE 4 and Outlook Express.
My internet connection is through a modemusing dial-up networking. I recently changed the number dialled to make the connection, switching from metered calls to flat rate calls.

I was dissatisfied with the service (lousy connections all the time) so I changed back. However, I foolishly used the “automatic configuration” option to change the number back rather than doing it manually. This set up a new network connection with the same settings but a different name. The new connection has the “save password” option greyed out.

After fiddling about in “dial-up networking” the save password option magically came back. I changed the number dialled in the old connection, deleted my new connection and everything was peachy. However, one reboot later and the “save password” option is greyed out again, and I can’t get it back. Any ideas?
