I am interested in getting an app that will allow me to receive faxes. Sending is not as important, so if the app can receive for free but charges to send, that would be fine. Please let me know of any experiences you have with a good app for faxing.
Sorry if I wasn’t completely clear in the original post. I am using an iPad with AT&T as the service provider.
I believe the only way to fax with an ipad is to use one of the services that forwards your faxes as a tif/pdf email attachment. Google “Internet fax service” and you’ll find several options.
Expect to pay $5-$10/month. Sending faxes can be free or nearly so, but to receive a fax they have to assign you a phone number, which consumes some of their resources. efax offers a “free” version with a non-local number, but they limit you to 10 pages/ month, and use a proprietary file format that an ipad can’t read.
