Arrested Development, Deadwood & Wonderfalls.
I really wish they’d make another TV movie.
While I’d love a reunion special showing what Dorothy, Blanche, and Rose are up to now that they’d be in their 80s (Blanche would claim to be in her 60s ) Sophia would be [del]over 120[/del] dead
. Golden Girls without her is just wrong.
She looked pretty damned good in Last King of Scotland. Her appeal never was based on her resemblance to swimsuit models.
Futurama - still haven’t seen Bender’s Big Score yet so no opinion on whether its inferior to the original
Carnivale - the show had such potential, it’s a shame it didn’t continue past two series
Firefly - I’m no fanboy but it was a good show, and definitely deserved to run longer than one series
I want to say Six Feet Under because it’s probably my favourite show ever, but it ended well (and the only way it really could) and it had a good run. The characters all developed and I think if they’d run it any longer it would have started to get either stagnant or silly (or both).
I see there’s no love for Enterprise in this thread - none from me either (I never watched it) but I would have thought with the geek quotient on the Dope being what it is that some people might have mentioned it.
Nope, it died the death it deserved, one season too late. I hated the way it shoehorned every bloody bit of Trek history it possibly could to one ship. That and the way they rubbished the Time War.
Someone’s already mentioned Futurama and Firefly, I’ll follow up with Dark Skies.
I actually liked Invasion, even though it was a re-hash of the Siegel movie. It had great potential though.
There was another kidnapped show about a senator’s wife gone missing ( I forget the title) where I liked the premise and many plot things, but the execution (killing off the main protagonist after 7 eps) was done poorly.
I dearly miss the CSI [LV] of the first season.
Bab5 ran its course and I can’t really see any reason to continue. I still miss getting a new episode, though.
Your Show of Shows
The Ed Sullivan Show
Playhouse 90
Colgate Comedy Hour
Maverick
Friends and Huff.
I was going to say Arrested Development, but on reviewing this thread, it’s Mystery Science Theater 3000. Arrested’s third season was hit and miss - the Charlize Theron storyline was pretty awful, the last few episodes were great - but MST is a show that could have run forever. Some of the framing plots were goofy, and I admit the Pearl-Bobo-Brain Guy lineup was not my favorite. But if you’ve got those guys making fun of bad movies, it’s all good. I consider the show an inspiration to this day.
Carnivale
Rome
Deadwood
Nowhere Man

Deadwood was cancelled because it cost about 5 mill per episode.

Any sign of the Dead Like Me Movie/DVD?
No official word on the Dead Like Me Movie DVD. Unofficially it is July 2008.
Twin Peaks (I loved it to the very end)
Due South (with the original Ray)
Cupid (I will not watch a Piven-less Cupid)
Chicago Hope (I liked it better than ER and I really liked ER)
Oldies but goodies (to me, anyway)
The New People (the original Lost)
Then Came Bronson

I miss the late “Book of Daniel” a kind sweet show killed by the religious right…
Joan of Arcadia for intelligent discussion about religion and compelling portraits of adolecents. The acting was also really, really good.
Here’s two:
