Which Doper has the most kids?

Mine are 46, 44, 43, and 40.

I think Sarabellum1976 and I have the record for most in the shortest time period. My four were born between December 1964 and November 1970, not quite six years.

My sister-in-law had twins when her other three were 3, 2, and 1. In the days before disposable diapers.

 indeed! I would think that having that many toddlers would pretty well preclude any opportunities to, um, feel like expanding the family!

And I sure hope she got 'em all potty-trained at about age 9 months!

(near the back of the line with only 2, here. As Typo Knig puts it, “they’ve got us outnumbered two-to-two”).

Mine were born between December '05 and July '10. Four years and 7 months.

Do I get Honorable Mention, at least?

That sounds like my great-aunt. Her oldest child wasn’t yet two when numbers 3 and 4 arrived barely nine months after baby 2…according to TMI family lore

Her husband was thrown out of the hospital just after she had #2 for trying to get a leg over…:mad: And apparently it didn’t take long once she got home, since the twins were only a few weeks early

No, you get the prize! Nothing planned for this year?

elfkin477, sounds like the old joke. New father asks the doc “How long before she can get pregnant again?” Doc says “Depends on whether you have a private room.”

You’re not far off. She had the oldest three potty-trained shortly after the twins arrived. I think they also helped fold diapers.

I’ve got zero. I guess that puts me in first place for the other poll, about who has the least kids. Ain’t nobody gonna beat that record.

I have 4, aged 33, 32, 30 and 25, plus one stillborn child, who would be about 28 now if she had lived.

OctoCat has 8 kit…er, kids.

Most verified or most estimated?

I’ve got four, but obviously that’s not very original for a doper. But give me nine months more or so, I’ll just go talk with my wife first and then you’ll see, dammit.

I’m in the negatives…I used to coach a bunch of kids, who I referred to as “my kids.” I don’t anymore…so…you can do the math.

I have 8, ages 15, 13, 12, 9, 7, 4, 3 and 8 months.

Now we’re up to 8 …

Wow. Better you than me. You should start an Ask The thread. If you have time to answer the questions, that is.

I don’t know what anyone would want to ask me, I really lead a pretty ordinary life. But if anyone thinks that there’s something they’d like to know, they’re free to ask, whether here, or in a new thread, or however.

Right now, in North America, eight kids is a whole lot of kids. Anything over about three is considered a large family, and people sort of boggle at the idea of managing more than a couple.
We’re just working on #3, and we’ve already gotten a lot of, “Wow, really? 3?” comments.

Lissla:

That, I’ll grant you, is true. It’s really a lot of fun to go somewhere with the whole gang and seeing their eyes bulge out when they say “All of these are YOURS?” It’s even funnier when we have “only” 6 or 7 with us, and we can say that there’s actually more not present.

And the fact that my wife looks very young makes them even more shocked.

OK, cmkeller, since you said it was ok to ask questions, Ima ask some:

  1. Catholic, Mormon, or what?

  2. Did you and mrs. keller set out to have a bunch of kids or did it just sort of happen?

  3. Are either you or your wife from big families?

  4. HOW do you afford 8 kids?!?!?!

  5. Are you two planning on any more?

  6. What’s your opinion of the Duggars?
Seriously – you really needta start an “Ask The” thread. I’m an only child and only have 1 child, so big families fascinate me.

OK, with two requests, I have formally opened an “Ask the…” thread.
