Is it just me or has Elvis really screwed the pooch in this thread (figuratively of course…wouldn’t want anyone to get other toddler type ideas)?? I mean, here was the perfect opportunity to have a good old fashioned reverse pitting of the OP, who seems to have done an Elvis and left the building, and all Elvis had to do was just go along with the joke, maybe make a few witty and depreciating remarks and allow the board to turn like sharks in a feeding frenzy. :smack:

Or, maybe it was inevitable…even with a perfect set up for epic failure in the OP he would get his share of the pitting, regardless…

There’s an old riddle about the slow horse race. Two dudes convinced they have the slowest horse in the world decide to have a slow horse race: whoever’s horse reaches the finish line last wins. Obvious problem is obvious: they make their horses walk slower and slower until finally they stop and glare at each other, then get off their horses (who happily start grazing) and yell at each other.

They continue like this for awhile until an old dude comes up and asks what’s the problem. They explain the problem to him. He says one sentence in exchange, and they immediately jump back on the horses and race to the finish line. What’d he say?

Anyway, maybe these guys are in a slow horse race.

Yup. I wonder if Scumpup is secretly a gun-control fanatic, and Elvis is a gun nut, and they both think their opponents have the dumbest arguments in the world, but they couldn’t prove it until someone told them to change horses.

Okay, I am back. Lost a cousin, but he was 60, so I guess it isn’t like he was cut down in the flower of youth. This thread seems to have gone about as expected even though I was called away.

Thank you for the condolences. He and I weren’t close in recent years, sad to say. It was a difficult thing for his wife and children to end life support and he had some cute grandbabies who won’t get to know him now. Oh well this is The Pit, and he deserved better than to be discussed here.
