I used to pit myself a lot when I was a clueless newbie, but I’ve made it to clueless old-timerdom without being pitted by anyone else.
Another 99’er here. I used to go to the Pit, haven’t been in maybe…2 years? Self-banned. Healthier that way. AFAIK I have never been Pitted in an OP. Pissed some folks off within threads there back in the day, but never been called out.
If I have been, it was after T.G.S.B. ( The Great Self-Banning )…

AFAIK I haven’t been pitted, but then again I haven’t checked the Pit regularly in a while. I’ve probably deserved it several times. I do have some views that some people would regard as extreme. I’ve been roasted on a pit-like device on #straightdope , though–quite well-deserved–and I learned my lesson.
Summer of 2000 here, and while I’ve been in any number of knock-down, drag-out fights in and out of the Pit, I’ve never been Pitted.
Though at times, it hasn’t been for lack of trying.
Most of you have never been pitted because you’re seedless.
I assume you’re excluding the Doris-Day-cum-penis character.
I have had some doozy of arguements with people too stupid or narrow minded to live, but my only actual name on the invitation Pitting was a semi-joke.

I think I qualify as an “old timer”. And I don’t think I’ve ever been Pitted. Don’t know what that means.

I’m a '99er and AFAIK have never been pitted, but I don’t meet the OP’s criteria for having a reasonable post count. I obviously don’t post enough to inflame the passions of my fellow dopers.
My dream is to someday break 1000 posts.

I guess one must be noticed before being pitted. I sort of blend into the background.

I’ve been part of really ugly Pit threats and had insults hurled my way – by peace (with tomndebb and Collounsbury, fighting the good fight) and Jack Dean Tyler (for you newcomers, perhaps the strangest SDMB troll ever) amongst others. But I kind of slip under the radar for the most part.
I’ve never been pitted, and I hang out in the pit a lot.
But nobody pays much attention…
Too bad. “I Pit spooje!” would make for a great thread title. Not to mention the sequential possibilities.
There may be such a thread title. But it would probably mention a sticky substance and not me…
