o/~ I know who my elephant is!
I know who my elephant is! o/~
Aw Cranks - I didn’t know you cared!
Unfortunately, it was a quickie weekend trip - Mr. Pol’s been in Auburn Hills all month for job training & we took turns making the drive. I did wave when I hit that curvy part of 14 that kinds runs thru A2
Hey - maybe we can make a FrankmuthDopeFest sometime this falll…
I know who my Elephantee is!!!
Nope…not telling!
Are we our elephant’s elephant?
Or does our elephant have a different elephant?
All the elephants have a different elephant.
Got the package sitting on my desk, ready to get dropped at the post office on the way home.
3 books, 1 videotape & three cassettes, plus some miscellaneous little bits. In true White Elephant fashion, I “recycled” a couple of former WE items: Fisherqueen and Shadowkat (or are you just Kat here?) may recognize some of their stuff.
As an extra added bonus (thanks to my origami calendar) an honest-to-goodness White Elephant is in the box as well!
Mine is all packed up and ready for the post office! I have packed the box chock full o’ treasures…at least 30. I had such fun!
So perhaps I shouldn’t have signed up for this, I thought it was supposed to be just an item or two… I’ll have to do some scrounging…

I, in no way meant for my post to be discouraging to anyone!!!
I am starting to prepare to move, so this came at a great time! I had plenty of treasure to pass along…If shipping were free, I would be sending a lot more.
I am so sorry if my post was disturbing to anyone else.
Money Saving Hint!!!
I just dropped off my White Elephant at the post office. The box must have weighed around 10 pounds so I was expecting $20 shipping at least. When the guy asked if there were any perishables or breakables, I said “Nope, just books and video tapes.” Guy says, “Oh, well let’s send it Media Mail. That’s cheaper.” I’ll say it was. under $5! If I’d known that, my elephantee would had received a bigger box.
So remember kids…you’re shipping BOOKS!
Wikket, when we set up the first White Elephant Exchange, the plan was that we’d each send one unwanted item to someone else. As it evolved, people took advantage of the exchange to unload all kinds of stuff - usually little things. I sent along fridge magnets and odd things I found in the garage.
Don’t make yourself crazy thinking you need to scrounge up lots of stuff. Just send off whatever you have to get rid of. It’s all in fun anyway!

Thanks for that last post!
I was horrified last night that I made someone feel bad about participating in the Elephant.
I just want to make sure (having never done this before) that you do tell your White Elephantee who you are on the boards, right?
Not to be a downer or anything, but you’d also committing mail fraud. The USPS looks down on that for some reason.

Not if you’re shipping books, videos, and cd’s, like I did
Speaking of which, Max, I just got your package today. Holy crap, I feel like it’s a small garage sale in a box.
Max sent me, inter alia:
-CDs
-old videotapes
-a computer game
-an original Game Boy with a copy of Tetris. (Max, I saw one of these in a museum in Glasgow…you’re sending me priceless antiques here!)
-a bunch of comic books
-a bunch of Star Wars and Spider-Man trading cards
The thing weighed as much as an Elephant, I’d wager…thanks, dude!
View the tapes…view the tapes Enjoy, Res!
Okay dokey, I’m back on the west coast, and know who my elephant is, so it’s treasure packing time! Whoo hoo - I’d planned on doing some major (late) spring cleaning in the next couple of weeks anyway, so AmVets will be getting a few less items from me this time around!

WOOT! WOOT! WOOT!!! does the Happy Kizzydance!
Guess what?!? Yesterday when I went to get the mail, what do I see before me but a package from Politzania! I nearly keeled over!
Anyway, I opened the box, and I found…
~ 3 books: Hunter’s Death and Hunter’s Oath*, plus [Interesting Times by Terry Pratchett, whom I had heard of via SO but have never read…
~ a tape of Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, which I’ve never seen,
~ cassettes from the Spin Doctors, The Moody Blues, and Bryan Adams ( Politz, how did you know I’m a closet 80s music freak? Seriously! :D)
~a mini Pinkachu and a mini knight from “The Fisher Queen”
~a very mini version of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”
~a keyring and a tie pin extolling the virtues of race cars (at least that’s what I gathered…they both sounded quite automotive)
and…
the most adorable origami white elephant I’ve ever seen, complete with directions!
Oh, Politzania, thank you sooooooooo much!!! I love them!!!
kizzyspins with utter glee!
