Box o’goodies turned over to the USPS for points west… of course west - I’m in Florida - most of the country is west of me!
And I enclosed a note with my real name and board name.

My box o’ goodies has been packed for a week now…I will make it to the post office this week!!!
…and I finally found said box, added the rest of the goodies to it, and sent it on its merry way yesterday…
Gravity, wherever you are, your package is on the way. I forgot to identify it as a White Elephant, so when you get a big box of crap in the mail, that’s from me.
I just watched the tapes Max Carnage sent me. One pleasant surprise was a bunch of Electric Company episodes! Woohoo! (I’d forgotten that Morgan Freeman played Easy Readers. Damn!) The other…well, I don’t think I should say what it is, but suffice it to say that George Lucas would have our heads.
I’ve got my goodies together, now I need to find a box, and get it to the post office - should be out the door by tuesday, at the latest.
You know, it’s amazing the things you find, when you’re looking to send stuff off to a total stranger.

I actually know someone who went to Brandeis, and I was just thinking about that school. How funny that you would send me a mascot! My son will love the little toy (and the seashells–he loves them so I will let him enjoy them). And the books! You sent such great books! I have another book by Heimel so I look forward to reading this one. And I also love Jonathon Kozol so I can’t wait to read THAT one. And shoot, I can’t remember the third book offhand (I’m posting from work) but as I recall it was good too.

Minding my own business and keeping my head down since I have nothing to offer this round except a pile of empty margarine tubs and… no, just the margarine tubs, I figured I’d be sitting on the sidelines, watching the parade go by. (Elephants are so beautiful…) But as Fate (and the ever-lovely rocking chair, Patron Saint of Wayward White Elephants) would have it, my spectating quickly became participating. (How did she get my address? She must be real smart. Columbo smart at least.)
It’s billed as a “Pygmy Elephant”, but since it’s roughly 28 pounds, a full-blown Elephant would be down-right scary.

Actually, there was another book I wanted to initially send that’s about book groups…when I find it, I’ll send it to ya!

I schlopped to get the mail, expecting to get a small package of something from eBay. I was surprised when the box was heavy. “What the hell?” I said, puzzled, and earning a look from the woman behind the counter at the MBE. “These aren’t shorts… I don’t know anyone named… OH YEAH!!”
I had forgotten completely about getting an elephant, even though I had packed up my own to mailed today.

Oh my gosh! right on top were a bunch of Star Wars comic books…but that was just the top layer. Treasure after treasure! …and I didn’t own a single one of the comics… but they all look really good! There were some action figures, and an anxiety brick and a christmas spider man set, and just…Everything!
This is the best ever!
