I just saw an ad on Facebook that Charo is playing a show near me, and thought, “She’s still alive?”
Of the 13 individuals who merit their own chapter in the wonderful 1990 book The Encyclopedia of Bad Taste, the only ones still alive are Charo and Dolly Parton (artist Margaret Keane died in 2022):
Charo is about 79, although her legal birthdate would make her 73 this year.
For some reason Bob Uecker came up in conversation the other day and I was surprised to see he’s still with us. And he’s added two birthdays since he was first mentioned in this thread.
