Who designs the smocks that Fox News women wear?

Who designs the smocks that Fox News women wear? Would Doper women wear such threads?

What do you mean by “smock” because what I think of as a smock is not something I’ve ever seen on a newswoman, Fox or not.

"Don’t mock my smock or I’ll clean your clock."

This. And “smock” is the least appealing name for a piece of clothing I can think off, other than maybe “girdle” or “truss”.

“Frock” is pretty unappealing too

Look at what they wear. Their dresses all look like they are from the same cut. I’ve never seen a woman on the street wearing such a fashion.

Doper women, please chime in.

Yep, only a housefrau would wear a frock.

Maybe the OP meant “frocks” instead, making this a fashion question instead of whatever it sounds like now.

Here is a nice photo that may give a clue as to what the OP is talking about. The dresses seem very similar, with variations in sleeves and in one case a belt, but the shape and necklines are almost identical.

My question for Fox viewers is, how superficial do you have to be that your female news anchors have to all be “hot” (and very few of the men are, IMHO)? I should ask my brother-in-law.

eta: “hot” is in quotes because they don’t do a thing for me.

I’m the OP. Help me here.

This is a Frock.

This is a Smock.

Regardless, to me, all Fox women appear to wear a simple (and revealing) cut of dress. I’ve never seen this fashion on the street. Am I alone in observing this?

Thank you for brightening my day with that photo.

I’d speculate Fox has guidelines for what their on air talent wears. The dresses the women wear are always similar. Just above the knee. Which is family appropriate and a bit sexy too. The dresses have high necklines. No exposed cleavages to upset the viewers.

I live in Seattle and have seen women wearing these types of dresses in the warmer months. Where do you live that you don’t see them in the street?

Palo Alto Ca.

Not sure what the point of showing us pictures of frocks and smocks is, since that doesn’t help any of us address the question. If Little_Pig does mean styles similar to the ones shown in **Roderick’s **link then I can tell you that’s a pretty common design that I and about a thousand other women here at my company wear some variation of. Can’t really give an answer until we understand the question.

The dresses shown on the FOX news picture are called sheath dresses and they’re very common in any business setting. They can be worn with a blazer or without.

But somehow I doubt the OP was asking a fashion question.

The dresses worn appear to be very plain, like they were cut from a simple pattern. I guess you’ll need to tune into Fox to get my meaning.

Here, enjoy. They are even on sale through Saturday, so you can stock up.

Did you maybe mean schmatte instead of smock? That’s the Yiddish word for rag which the New York garment district workers use sarcastically for their goods.

You cannot report the news without nice legs.

So MoonMoon was right, you aren’t asking a fashion question. Certainly not gonna watch Fox voluntarily just to find out what you’re on about.

… They’re pretty standard dresses; I really don’t get what you mean. And it makes sense to stick with simple cuts and designs – you can change the overall look with different accessories and you can rotate between them without being as noticeable. That second one is a big one, because women on tv news get unbelievable amounts of bullshit over their appearance, style, clothing. Like the OP here.

I’m not a Fox News viewer, but I understand.

A lot of TV stations tell you that the person who sits behind the anchor desk is some kind of seasoned journalist and that reading the script to you constitutes hard-hitting journalism. My reaction to that is “give me a break.” The people who gather and produce the news may be journalists, but it doesn’t take a journalist to read it off the script.

So if you have to have someone sitting thee reading the news to you, why not have someone attractive (of whatever gender you prefer)?
