Not just Fox.
Not if you paid me.
How about if I give you a cookiekayaker. Pick 'em.
I spent waaaaaay too long scrolling through cookie pics. Mmmmmmmmmm
The cut itself (with more variation on necklines) is not unusual for professional women aged, say, 30-40.
I think the bright colors are what makes it seem unusual. Black and white are both difficult colors on screen (black can make you look like a floating head, and white can wash you out), so they are wearing bright colors. In the real world, however, most dresses in these cuts are office-friendly neutrals.
Office wear like this is also usually paired with a jacket or cardigan, particularly if it is sleeveless.
Well thank you even sven. I believe my ignorance has been defeated.
I’m not really the Fox news type, but I’d guess that I have six or seven sheath dresses in various solid colors that I wear to the office regularly. I think they’re pretty standard for offices on the more formal end of business casual.
And, exactly how much leeway does a male on-air commentator have in choosing his jacket and shirt? Only the tie color varies,
I think their pants legs have to be below the knee.
Hillary Clinton is the only woman I’ve ever seen on TV wearing a smock. I’ve never seen a more horrendous dresser, irl or media.
Do you mean just a simple shift like the Duchess of Cambridge is wearing in the bottom pictures? That’s a very popular style, and I’d wear it. I wouldn’t look like her or the Fox reporters, though.

Looks like reunion of late-90s Playmates.
I personally wouldn’t wear a dress like that, because I just don’t have the figure for it . . . among other reasons.
They look like The Stepford Anchors.
BINGO! We have a winner.
They look like extras at a casting call for “Cherry 2000”.
Maybe we could be more sophisticated like our European cousins and show nudity during weather reports.
As the “lady meteorologist” phenomenon points out, TV presenters face a ridiculous set of restrictions when choosing clothing. Women face an additional problem in that a man can just wear the exact same suit every day with a different tie and no one will notice. A woman has to at least appear to wear a different outfit each day. So, women end up dressing very much alike on TV.
They look very nice; and more importantly, very blonde.
Sadly though, based on the use of the word smock, I expected Fox Newswomen to be issued Christian Modesty Attire, such as those splendid prairie gingham frocks to the ankles, with puff sleeves; maybe with roguish pioneer bonnets and shawls.
In honour of American Heritage and Grit or something.
Hey, don’t forget about the bitchin’ hair poufs!
